We are finishing our first year at Bethesda, and we are beyond blessed with loving and Godly teachers, outstanding principal, and the quality of education.

The academics are rigorous to the point of excess. Even at the elementary level, during the week our nightly routine sounded like "Do your homework. Eat your dinner. Finish your homework. Take your bath. Go to bed." The criticisms that choosing Bethesda is not choosing involvement in extra-curricular activities was true for us. Every night there was homework or reviews - in 4th grade! A kid should be allowed to be a kid. There is also a student racism at the school. We've taught that in America, diversity comes in all colors, but our child was teased for being different. Because we have downplayed race in our home, living as Americans not people of color, this was the first experience of racism and our child couldn't even identify it - just knew that no one in class was accepting. This is a travesty in a Christian school.

This is the most amazing school. Very strong academics but most importantly the children have super role models in there principle, teachers and administrators. Children spend so much time at school that the influence of those around the is immense. The best school ever!!!

Bethesda is an exceptional Christian school, very strong academically as well as in Christian character training. You do not have to wonder whether the "Christian" in the school's name reflects the atmosphere in the school. It most certainly does. Bethesda students tend to have a strong work ethic academically. As a whole, our students perform very high on standardized tests at all grades. The hard work seems to pay off when it comes time for college, as many of our students receive significant academic merit scholarships. It should be noted, however, that the pace and homework load (especially at the secondary level) may be too challenging for some children to handle. If your child's academic preparation at another school has been weak--or your child is not a good student or simply moves at a slower pace by nature--you need to prayerfully consider whether Bethesda would be a good fit.

It is a very good and prestigious school, and very Godly. They help prepare you for college at a very high level, and make time for God in all of their lesson plans. The teachers are all Godly men and women, and no matter what the schedule is, they always make time for God in their classrooms. The Honorable Character chart gives the school a backbone for raising good young men and women, which our society needs so greatly now.
My children were blessed to attend and now my grandchildren do the same. Excellent academics. Excellent administration and staff. Excellent spirit and atmosphere. Excellent Christian values. Thanks Bethesda, Scott Pogue

We have three children attending Bethesda and we love it! Our oldest child is in her seventh year at Bethesda. Before choosing Bethesda, we visited several other schools in the area with a long list of questions in hand. For each question we had, Bethesda was the school that had the answer we were seeking. During our years at Bethesda we have been impressed not only with the challenging academics, but also with the teachers' genuine care and concern for the students. We feel that our children are receiving a quality education with a Biblical worldview which will greatly help prepare them for college and adulthood. If you are looking for a Christian school for your child, this one is definitely worth a visit.

Our daughter graduated from Bethesda Christian School. We feel that she recieved a wonderful education. The faculty and staff were caring and well qualified. She is now in college and many times her professors will ask where she attended high school. They often will compliment Bethesda Christian School for doing a fine job. We agree!

My son attended BCS from 7th grade through graduation. Not only did he achieve a gold cord for his advanced academics, but he learned how to be a Christian ambassador. The teachers, administrators and all other staff were attentive and caring. My son had a very upsetting day in his senior year and his teacher (who was also the high school dean) took time out to have the class pray for him. He graduated in 2004 and stays in touch with many of his classmates. The graduation ceremony was unforgettable. We stay in touch with many of the faculty and principal and always recommend Bethesda to friends looking for a Christian school.

I attended Bethesda Christian School from Kindergarten to 12th Grade. I enjoyed elementary school, but felt that middle and high school became too rigorous. Having now experienced college, I have realized that all the excessive homework I had at Bethesda did not really place me that far ahead of others. There are many students in my college honors classes that took advanced placement courses in high school and are on the same level or higher than I am. My suggestion would be that if your child plans to do any extracurricular activities in middle or high school, the homework load will be overbearing. Late nights and fast dinners were a common theme throughout my high school years. While I did not care for the academics, the character and small class size is a plus. However, if I were to do it over again, I would not have chosen Bethesda due to its suppression of extracurricular activities.
My daughter is in second grade at BCS. She's been there since kindergarten. BCS is an amazing school and I have no complaints at all. The teachers are loving, kind and give their all to teaching the children. My daughter is reading a a 5-6 grade level and writes in beautiful cursive. The teacher/student ratio is small. They teach the kids using the Honorable Character system which rewards them when they show positive character traits. You will never regret having your child at BCS! It is truly a gift to my family.

I have been at Bethesda for 2 years and we are so happy with the leadership, academics, faith and direction of the school. My child resepcts and loves his teachers so much. After the first year at BCS my child could read, do simple math, and write in cursive. And thats after Kindergarten! His teachers are so loving and are building a great foundation for learning. I LOVE BCS!!!!

Bethesda Christian school is a wonderful school. The rigorous curriculum challenges students and their character program teaches and trains youngsters the importance of honesty, faithfulness, honor, courage, responsibility, and many other qualities. The educators truly care about their students and the welcoming environment is refreshing. I would highly recommend Bethesda Christian School to anyone who is looking for a wonderful place of education for their children.

Our child has been at Bethesda for 8 years and we tell others that we will 'sell our house and go to using one car' if that is what it takes to stay at Bethesda! The academic program is outstanding; at every math, science, or speech meet we've attended this is proven by the number of Bethesda students that achieve top honors even though other schools have more students present/competing. Our students want to learn, have confidence in what they know but are humble about it, and always DO their BEST in everything they attempt. The students have a positive outlook of life, they aren't 'lost and without purpose' like so many young adults/students are in today's society. They are respectful to one another, to adults and to younger students. Our outstanding staff is always positive, encouraging, and enjoys teaching students that WANT to learn! Parental support is superior!

I wish i could have afforded to keep my child there, the best care a working parent could ever ask for. My daughter was apart of the family at Bethesda. She will always take with her in life, the values and education Bethesda gives to each in every child.

It is a good school, I should know. I went there from k-6 and then for financial reasons had to leave. I feel they do not have adequate facilities compared to public schools (classes and tech). The teachers are nice, but I feel that they pressure and shelter you. I am now in a good high school and was the best in my class at my middle school. It gives your child a good foundation, but after 5th grade they fall behind in some areas. If you want a marching band program, I would urge you to go elsewhere there is not enough students for a marching band. It does not offer a very large selection of classes but I have been told they are changing that. If you are having bully problems you may have to figure it out on your own. I speak from experience.

Everyone there is so friendly. They all have a real love for the Lord, and are extremely accepting to new people!
