If your students aren't in WAVE, don't bother sending them there. They would be better off being homeschooled. The teachers only care about their WAVE students. They constantly think the WAVE kids are going to be bullied, but alot of them bully the other students. The WAVE kids get cool mini-courses (to waste the hour they get to school before the other students, so they are schooled 2 hours less since they also get early release.) Many of the WAVE students are even taking all regular classes (like the normal kids). Those students don't need to be there. I think if they want a program like this, it should be held at it's own campus. WAVE is all this school has become. There are kids that pass this school on the way to Brookside everyday because this school is filled (with WAVE kids.) We were very displeased.

The WAVE program at Westbrook is fabulous, students love it. The band is fantastic, and the teachers are the best I have ever known. Mini-courses are wonderful to help students find their talents. I have personal experience with the wonders of minicourses, I found my talent as a writer and was able to polish my talent during several writing mini-courses. I would encorage any student faced with the choice of going to WAVE or not going, to go to WAVE.

The WAVE magnet program at Westbrook is awesome. Lots of parent involvement with the entire school. Outstanding band program.

Beautiful new facility that opened in fall 2005. The student population is large (1200+) but traffic congestion at arrival and dismissal times is eased thanks to staggered arrival and dismissal times for the Wave magnet students. We love the school location, with convenient access to IH-45. Our son is a Wave student and we have been very happy with the academics, the teachers, and the program. Our experience with the Westbrook band program and athletics program has been outstanding as well.
