I would have to agree with the last review. We are transferring our child to another district. Obviously the school administration and the school board has no clue about how to improve the school and district since they are cutting programs and not improving the learning experience for the students. The principal and the superintendent have no desire to help the schools improve. Learning consists of worksheets and reading from a textbook that is boring and not academically challenging. The school district is satisfied with this middle of the road, but we are not so that's why we are leaving. Wish that GISD would try to improve itself. Maybe a new school board would help!

Well, we are definitely pulling our child from Chalmers when the school year is over! This is the second year there and it keeps going down hill. The principal is cold and rude, and does not want her school to progress. The teachers do not care to catch up to the 21st Century in their instruction so students are left doing average. The cafeteria is like a military camp where the aides yell at the students to be quiet. Everytime I go to eat with my child I get possibly an average of 5 min. of talking with her due to lights being out. Yea, Chalmers you're a mediocre school and that's what you've been told to do. And that's why more families are leaving the district. Go Chalmers!

The teachers at this school are about average. If you are trying to deal with the office staff expect to be treated rudely and as if it is a pain for them to help you. The office staff takes it into there hands to question parenting skills. My daughter attended Chalmers Elementary for most of her second grade year. From the first day she attended until the day I was trying to withdraw her it was nothing but a hassle to call or even try to speak with these ladies. If you have any choice at all I would recommend not putting your child in this school. There are much better schools in the area.

Recently we moved from Gainesville due to job relocation. We miss Chalmers terribly. The entire faculty and staff are such wonderful people with kind hearts. My daughter got such a wonderful education while she was there, she was a part of the GT program where she took part in quite a few field trips.

We are first timers here at Chalmers, so everything has been alot bigger and more fast paced. I have and had heard alot about Gainesville Schools but my husband and I made a point to make up our own minds according to how we felt and not with how others kept telling us. Sadly, what we expected from this school didnt and hasnt happened. Most of the time its total choas up there and getting anything answered ( truthfully) is near impossible. The Principle is arrogant and snotty. Way to many children in one classroom. I will say the good thing about Chalmers is they have great educated teachers who work really hard. To many chiefs and not enough indians. Private school is our option for next year. Good luck to you Chalmers. I really hope it gets better.

The teachers of this school, do a great job with what they are given with. The leadership of the school is seriously lacking. The test scores are nothing to brag about, but again that comes from lack of leadership and not knowing whats going on in his or her school, and taking credit for the work others have done. Depending on who your child is, depends on if they get to be involved in any kind of UIL .. be it.. spelling, reading or heck even music.Football is the main concern at this school. One word for you parents, dont expect to get anywhere when you ' voice ' your opinon, the leader/s of this school will smile to your face and laugh behind it. Good Luck.

The teachers at Chalmers are great! The PE teacher works really hard with the kids on fitness and health. I am very happy to have my child in the care of the Chalmers staff.

I am proud to work at this school. I believe that we do a good job. I only hope that the parents that have valid concerns will address them with the school and not just on this web site. We are eager to work with parents and encourage their involvement. The PTA is awesome. Great sign!

Chalmer's principals and teachers rank among the best in the state of Texas. The principals set high standards and maintain a wonderful atmposphere conducive to learning. The teachers work incredibly hard each day to address the needs of each individual child making sure to adjust the curriculum to fit each child's educational needs. Chalmers most definitely has my support!
