Our daughter attends Dell Pickett and is so unhappy and I feel she is being cheated out of a good education. We're currently looking for another place to enroll her. Our concerns are the same as shared by some of the other unhappy parents. Some of the other kids who attend this school have no manners, use curse words, and have harassed our daughter so much that she no longer enjoys going to school. When we speak to administration about the issues, they always make excuses and say they'll look into it or that they'll do their best, but then nothing much changes. I have no doubt that our daughter isn't an angel but the school needs to get control over the students. If the bad behavior wasn't tolerated, I have no doubt that the environment wouldn't be different. Her teacher seems great, but stretched far too thin. Add to that the fact that the focus is teaching to the test and the teacher & kids don't have much chance, do they?
Warning to all parents: Georgetown ISD does not do transfers. If you choose to send your child to Dell Pickett, be aware of the consequences. Your poor child will be stuck at this school no matter how many problems you have there. Sure someone will listen to you, things will get better for about a week or so. Then out of obligation, you will continue to be listened to. No real resolution here folks.
Not a very friendly school. My child goes to this school and is truly unhappy there. The head Principal says it's because the kids there are from "working class" families. So I guess they are expected to behave badly and because of how they are being raised, it's tolerated. If you have a good child, they do not belong at this school. Pickett needs a Warden not a Principal.
My son goes to Dell Pickett, we have had nothing but trouble with the kids at this school. The kids are mean and use VERY bad language. They go out of their way to make my child as miserable as possible. I would not recommend this school to anyone. The teachers are GREAT but they do not make up for the kids. The Principal is new and does not have CONTROL. Take your kids somewhere else!! They will be a lot happier.
Great school with awesome parents and staff. The students are amazing and everyone is welcomed.

I feel like Dell Pickett was not very forth coming in helping my son with his needs. It seemed as though the teachers did not take the time to help my son.
