I took my children out of this school. Within the first week of my son being in pre k he was put in iss. His teacher called me to confess she spanked him in then bathroom. The bus was horrible and never would protect my kids. Some of the teachers were very sweet and caring but others seemed to not even care. They took out the art classes and left music and my son loved art.
I really do not like this school at all. My Daughter started kindergarden here and then went on to first grade. the teachers were great dont get me wrong. But as far as things happening on the busses and disipline and caring for the parents that are conserned about the children and what happens to them on the bus they are not very good at that. They would have rather been in there meetings all day long then talk to a conserned parent. I can understand about meetings but all day give me a break. Also when you get threatend that they would call the police because you want something done about what happened to you child something is wrong. I also think the reading program could be better. I think that taks is a big thing but I would rather my child understand what she is reading then how fast
This school has yet to come up with a strong discipline policy which they will adhere to. Although the teachers are mostly highly qualified and caring professionals, the administration is often lacking and fails to support their staff. The environment leaves a lot to be desired. It is unsafe and chaotic much of the time.
Personally I think the school is very good concerning the teachers as far as the teaching part goes. The only thing I find wrong with it is the fact that they don't have any organization in the morning, especially in the parent/car drop off section in the back. I really think they need to work on enforcing the 'cars in a single row' rule. Because now, there are parents that just think they don't have to sit in line like the rest of us and so they just drive to the very front of the line and drop their kids off in the middle of the road. I think that it would be a better idea to have a patrol officer there in the mornings to help corral the chaos.
