Gladewater High School has dedicated teachers who care about their students. They work hard to get the students to understand the subject areas that they teach and to pass the state tests. The scores of these tests have risen the last few years and have placed Gladewater in "Recognized" status. The high school leadership is strong, as well. The staff cares about the students individually and want them all to be successful. There are many activities that the students can participate in such as band, art, choir, agriculture, theater, TSA, FCCLA, Book Club, drill team, and much more.

The athletics department is alright, though use to be much better. There is many fights in the school. Use to have some of the worst test scores in the area, but I think it's getting a bit better. Still, if you have a choice, or are browsing for a school to attend, you would be much better off submitting your child into Pine Tree or Sabine (as the other reviewer also mentioned). I graduated from Gladewater ISD in 2006, I'm sad to see it's became the place it has. Many of the teachers who worked there while I attended have long since left because of the quality of the school.

I about to graduate from this school and would like to advise parents thinking about Gladewater High School that they should choose another (such as Sabine or Pine Tree). There aren't many opportunities for students outside athletics and many academic funds fall short against the surrounding schools. If you want your child to really strive, please pick a neighboring district.

I love Gladewater High. The teachers love the students and go that extra mile for them. The Athelics dept is #1 they always put the kids first! You want find a better community that pulls together for their school, Than GISD
