All aspects of Anna May Daulton exceed expectations. Great administration and teachers that genuinely care about all students. Previous comments from parents about poor leadership or administration were not valid. These parents have unrealistic expectations and think that they can just walk in and meet with the principal....you have to schedule an appointment! The administration is busy running the school and ensuring that our children get the best education possible....
We moved to the neighborhood surrounding this school based on the reputation of the Mansfield ISD. However, after a couple of years of my child attending this school,I realized that reputation alone is not enough to judge a school for your child. My child is not a problem child. But, his quietness caused him to be lost in the crowd by his teachers. Daulton was not the right place for him. He was moved to a school with a much smaller teacher to student ratio. Unfortunately, his new school is was not an expense that we planned for when we moved to this community. However, it is worth it as I observe a night and day difference in his confidence and approach to school. My advice before moving to any new school: 1. View the student/teacher interactions and 2. Talk to parents who have older children who have attended the schools that your child would likely attend (IS, MS, HS).
We moved to Texas this year. What a wonderful surprise in this GREAT school! Our phone calls prior to moving were so encouraging with the friendly reception from front desk and information relayed, but our exoerience has been terrific! Everone so courteous and helpful. Great pride and care in school. Academics stressed in pleasant learning environment.
My wife and I are extremely pleased at the education, skill set, and knowledge the teaching and admin staff have at Anna May Daulton. Our children benefit daily in one aspect or another from all areas of instruction...from the required Math, Science, and Reading to the Arts and Music. We see daily the care and compassion that all the students receive. We can't say enough good things about Daulton. Keep up the Outstanding work that you all do. You really are raising up our future leaders.
I did not want to miss the opportunity to express my family's opinion after recently moving from Texas and Daulton to another city and school. Daulton was a great school! Every time we visited or called with a question, the receptionist was friendly and got us an answer or person who could answer - not here. We were spoken to by staff and faculty in hallways - not here. We were given regular feedback about our child from teachers - not here. So, all in all, Daulton gets an A from us. We miss it!
My children have been at Daulton for 2 years now. I am very pleased with what my children are learning and the activities that are available for them as well. My children love their teachers. The administration have been great to my children also. I feel that Mrs. Wilson does care greatly about the children. I have conferenced with her on a one on one level and she has every child at Daulton best interest at heart. The before and after school activities that are available for students is great as well. There are many schools that offer nothing to little for students to participate in. We should all be thankful to the teachers who are working over their regular hours to give to our kids.
After reading the reviews posted and speaking with my neighbors, I agree with the negative reviews. When you have a concern regarding your child, you shouldn't have to 'be patient' for the principal to meet with you, especially when I've seen some parents get taken back to see her right away! I realize she has an important job, but all I hear is 'it's all about the children' - prove it! The 'chosen ones' have no problem seeing the principal. Sad. I'm glad my child will move on next year. I will not miss the administrative drama at Daulton.
This school continues to go downhill. I am very unhappy with the administration and leadership. The principal is rarely available to parents and is only interested in test scores and fundraising. Not the school I thought it would be.
A friendly, knowledgeable front office making for a great first impression for new parents and students. Safety of students seems a major concern at this school. Appears to have an active PTA committed to serving the students. Teachers are diverse and challenging in their methods of teaching. Physical Education stresses healthy lifestyle choices from eating to exercise. A new, inexperienced AP added this year. Principal is friendly enough, but aloof to some parents.
My kid isn't learning much here. He comes home saying how easy everything is. I check his school work. He was doing the same things 2 yrs before when he was in private school. Don't expect too much from this school.
We love Anna May Daulton Elementary School! The principal and her staff are remarkable! Everything is very organized, from enrollment to drop off and pick of the kids. My 7 year old child is very happy at Daulton. We can't stop talking about it! Love the principal and her involvement at school!
