This is a wonderful place if you are looking for superior academics in a healthy learning environment along with a REAL focus on Christian character and a Biblical worldview. I have boys and girls, that have been in every level of this school, some in athletics, some in arts.. This school is like a family that comes alongside the parents to partner with them to raise kids to be authentic Christian leaders. This means that kids and parents are held to a high standard of Christian character, with lots of grace and a focus on love and growing in Christ. Unfortunately there are those disgruntled few that for personal reasons use pages like this to discredit a place because a Christian environment is not for everyone and standards exist and sometimes that means hard conversations must be had. Every year I speak to kids that have transferred to the school from other schools and say they could not be happier and it is the happiest place they have ever been. It is not easy to get in because of wait lists, but if you do you will never regret the decision! Take a tour & see for yourself! My kids and their friends ADORE Faith!
I love this school. The students are welcoming and respectful and the faculty, staff and administration are exemplary. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Faith.
I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! We are entering our second year at Faith (we have experienced the elementary, jr. high AND high school) and truly couldn't be happier! The moment you walk in the doors, you feel God's presence. It is academically aggressive but the beautiful part is that the faculty and administration are not just concerned with the minds of their students--they love and develop the "whole human"--the hearts and souls of their kids, not just the brains. Every day the students are given opportunities to help mold their character, integrity, responsibility and intelligence, as well as learning how to use God's word as their life compass. The saying goes that it takes a village and we feel so blessed that we have our Faith family as part of ours!
Definitely not a Christian based experience. As a former Athletic Director/Coach for the past 20 years, I am appalled of the things that go on at this institution, especially in regards to the girls athletics. There is favoritism shown to the boys athletics in relation to girls athletics. I have heard there is bullying in girls athletics that the administration sweeps under the rug. These are the main reasons why there have been so many transfers from Faith Christian. If you are truly a Christian based institution, then these problems would not exist.
Anything but Christian in my book. Our treatment has been pathetic, and we are not even easily offended. It took a few years to uncover the truth, which is favoritism is alive and active in this school. Faculty/Administration consistently refuse to correct the multitude of internal problems. Faculty is not the Christian role model as stated in their mission statement. Now that our child has moved to a new school she is thriving and happy. Thank God our child is out of that unloving environment. Be sure to do your research.
Horrible High School experience...average education, hyper involved parents manipulating every step for "Little Johnny" and Sr Administration from Principal to AD to President of the School that hide behind the veil of Christianity. Our family went through some serious issues in this High School with lip service & broken commitments from these Sr Administrators. It is very sad to see the number of families and KIDS that have been hurt here yet no one seems to care or willing to dig in and ask the tough questions. These good ole' boys clearly have no one to answer to. Be very, very careful if you are considering sending your child here.....look at the shear number of negative reviews from so many different angles/points of view. Where there is smoke there is FIRE.
Make sure you really do your research before sending your child to this school. Faith Christian School has the very same problems as the public schools. What our family discovered was a lack of leadership within the school administration and the lack of care or concern for the well being of the students. The academic curriculum is very limited in foreign language and electives. When situations arise and the administration needs to be involved they pretend nothing has happened and choose to ignore the reality. When a student is faced with numerous incidents when action is required and they see an administration that does nothing it's very difficult to explain to the child that this is an example of Christian leadership. When the environment is destroying your child and they are beginning to question Christianity and their faith because of the example set by the leadership of a school it's time to leave.
We have five children who attend Faith and couldn't be happier with our choice! This will be our fifth year at the school. Faith is a wonderful, protected, Christian environment for your child to grow in spiritually and intellectually. We have had great experiences in the elementary and high school but middle school is where Faith truly shines. The teachers, administration, and support staff are awesome! They have been there for many years with little turnover because they love what they do, the people they work with, and the impact they make in our children's lives. If you are considering the school, go for a visit. The campus is always welcoming for visitors and you can meet our fabulous admission director and learn more about the school and decide for yourself if Faith is a good fit for your child! Regarding the negative comments: Cliques? a few, but the majority are sweet welcoming families, two fundraisers a year at Faith both optional, none of my children have been in athletics and they fit in just fine, service hours are the same as public HS, my daughter loves Faith. If anything, I would say the girls get more awards and hold more leadership positions than boys!
This is an extremely marginal High School. The attrition from the High School recently is alarming. Of the upcoming 2015 class, there were 92 freshman and 29 (30 %) of those kids left over the last 3 years! Many previously longtime Faith families are now sending their younger children to other schools. We felt it lacked genuine leadership. The administration is seen as out of touch by many of the High school students and parents. The quality of the education has suffered greatly due to the departure of excellent teachers, staff and coaches.
I have a son that attends Faith. It is such a refreshing feeling sending my son to a school where I know he will be surrounded by like minded children whose parents have the same values in parenting that we do. The school does a great job at integrating Christian biblical values into the curriculum as well as challenging the students academically and creatively. I am excited that my son is given the opportunity in the classroom to learn the material in a very creative and unique way that has given him a desire to continue to learn. As a public school teacher myself, I know that in public school that does not happen due to the emphasis on state testing. Faith is filled with a great genuine staff that really cares for the students and their success. I have been thoroughly impressed with our experience and am looking forward to more in the future.
Sending our children to Faith is one of the best decisions our family has ever made. Faith is a wonderful school with staff members who love Jesus and love their students. The best word that comes to mind is genuine - everyone from the administration to the teachers to the students and families. Of course no place is perfect but I am honestly shocked my the negative reviews of Faith. Our family will forever be grateful for our time at this school!
Huge disappointment. We had hoped for the tuition our children would receive rigorous academics, they did not. Why pay for a curriculum similar to area public schools? Aside from the inferior academics to say this school is "cliquish" with parents/students is an understatement, the focus on athletics is too heavy, much heavier than it is on following Christ or the curriculum. If you love fundraising for your school than this is the place for you! If you want an excellent, rigorous, challenging, education for your children in a Christian environment where TRUE CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP is taught then you need to research area private Christian schools who truly cater to both. Again, what a wasted year for our students, one we will never get back.
We have 2 kids at Faith and simply love this school! The heart of the school is true and the aim to ensure the staff and teachers all have a correct biblical worldview in order to help develop students that are authentic Christian leaders. Our kids have participated in and benefited from excellent academic, sports, and arts programs and we have found a place that not only embraces and loves on our kids, but welcomes parents as well. This community is like no other we've been a part of. We thank God for Faith!
We appreciate Grapevine Faith holding true to their mission statement: developing and graduating authentic, Christian leaders. Our two children thrive in this atmosphere and have had so many opportunities to use their talents for God! We are thankful for the wonderful people who surround our children daily and point them to Christ at every turn.
If you are going to enroll your children here, be prepared to slog for this school, from the relentless fundraising to the so called "service hours". Sadly, the academics is subpar and most of the parents clannish and preoccupied with the dog and pony show that engulfs the athletic frenzy in this institution. I am all for athletics, but with a balanced perspective. Authentic Christian leaders? I beg to defer. The best decision I made was to remove my children from this toxic, self righteous, self serving, and academically inept environment.
Our children have been poured into, challenged and loved at Faith! It has been a wonderful experience. The Faith family is a community of love and support. A personal relationship with Christ is encouraged and nurtured. The academics continue to grow in rigor and challenge. Our students are building leadership and critical thinking skills that will help them in their college and adult years.
Beware especially if you have a daughter. They do NOT walk the talk! Girls are not their top priority. The boys rule. The administration believes they should only deal with the fathers and they really don't care to hear what a woman has to say. Believe me our family has given thousands of dollars to this school & until we were faced with a situation that involved some answers from the administration we did not realize they actually are too busy with their traveling & speaking events to deal with what is taking place in their own school. No female should feel like she cannot speak up because a man is the one chosen by God to be the one in charge. Young girls need to realize that they have a voice & the mother's of these girls need to be heard by all!!!!
Do not send your child to this school unless you are rich enough to pay for their success. Spend enough money and you can buy your child the leading role in a play or a starting position on a Varsity team. GIrls will never succeed at this school either. All emphasis is placed on males doing well. The education is very poor, especially in math and science. The administration is a joke and is nothing but a good 'ole boys club that play and travel together on "mission" trips. Bottom line, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
Faith is a wonderful school. My child has grown spiritually as well as academically. She is surrounded by loving christian teachers in a warm, caring environment. I can't say enough great things about this school. We are so thankful to be a part of the Faith family.
Our daughter is a middle school student at Faith, and she thrives there in every way. She is a very academic student, and she is seen as a unique individual who is a hard worker and who loves school. She has never been bullied or even excluded at Faith, and that's saying something for any middle schooler at any school. The school does a great job of proactively teaching important issues early on, such as anti-bullying, cyber awareness, dressing appropriately, etc. Our daughter's teachers are positive role models who go above and beyond, and we love the family atmosphere.
