Comparing private school tuition around the country, Calvary offers excellent education at a third or fourth of the price. Since you are not at a huge school setting and the number of students is smaller, there is a more personable environment, including the ability of the principal to be more accessible. We feel fortunate to have had such intelligent, wonderful, dedicated, loving, and thoughtful teachers for our children. It is also reassuring to be around parents who actually parent and understand that children need love AND healthy boundaries to grow, thrive, and integrate successfully within society. We have not been overwhelmed with the homework yet, but we have only been up to the third grade level. The school is very good in the development of language/reading/writing skills. I would like to see more emphasis on high level science/math/and a broader subject offering to ensure they can be competitive at all levels, including the top schools in both the US, UK, Europe, etc. We are a global economy and need to consider the direction that the markets will be turning toward. I would also like to see the addition of golf, tennis, more arts/music/voice/instrument/languages.
Calvary Christian School has been a blessing to my family. Our son has received a high quality education for the past 3 years. The teachers are very supportive and have demonstrated the curriculum in a very engaging and intellectual way. Above all, we love the Lord and honor him.
the student there are very rude and disrespectful
I was convinced by a former student of calvary that the school was excellent, so I decided to enroll my son, and I could not have made a better choice for him, I am very pleased with the first grade program.
I went to Calvary Chrisitan School and it was perhaps one of the most enjoyable schools I have ever attended. It prepared me for High School, advancing me into all Honors Classes. English and Grammar is perhaps one of my best subjects and credit my teachers at this wonderful school for my intelligence. I currently attend a boarding school and my G.P.A is around a 4.1. As you can see, Calvary prepared me both mentally and physically for me to leave home and attend another school about 1,000 miles away. Along with great scholastic knowledge, a proper idea of the Bible and a Christian aspect on life, I am prepared to follow my path with God in a comfortable and proper manner. I thank this school for everything it has done for me and it has definately prepared me for a difficult life ahead.
While I love the principle of this school (strong morals and ethics, christian values), I take issue with the excessive amount of projects and homework the kids have in the upper grades. It is beyond what I have ever seen and many times there will be mutiple projects due at the same time. And these are not little projects. They also promise no homework on Wednesdays and weekends but I haven't found this to be true either for any grade. I have two children who attend and 1 nephew and they ALWAYS have homework. I do love, love, love Mrs. Zieselm the principal. She is wonderful with all the students. Rebecca Perez (1st grade) also has tremendous love and patience for her students.
Calvary is a great school especially from1st grade. I noticed discipline problems in the lower grades (PreK-K). They have very dedicated, loving teachers. They have solid curriculum, they teach the kids to work by themselves. The AR program is very good. There are opportunities for extra sport and music. The school is very competitive
Great Elementary. Students, parents and Teachers are happy.
Calvary School is the best school my children have ever attended. Calvary requires excellence in academics as well as bible study, organizational skills, and christian morals and ethics. Children learn to read and write and find self esteem by what God has empowered them to achieve through their success. They learn team skills to build each other up in their class as well as the school as a whole. It is truly amazing to watch these kids grow. My children came from a good public school in Mesquite, Tx. but Calvary is so much better. At first my kids struggled with how much and how challenging homework is. After a few months, it was no problem. They stepped up to the challenge and they are so proud of themselves. Vollyball, basketball, and music lessons are available for add'l fees. I would encourage anyone to enroll their kids.
