My grandson has gone to this school since kindergarten and is now going into the fourth grade and it is the best school I have seen in a long time. Kind of reminds you of when we went to school. The teacher are kind and caring and have a heart to the children. They care about the kids.
The school needs to communicate in a more timely manner with parents. For instance, today the kindergarden class is celebrating the 100th day of school. Parents were asked to send items to make trail mix with for the occasion. They found out about it last night, when they went through a folder. Anything requiring a trip to the store should be sent out at least two or three days in advance, and preferably a week in advance. The Extend-a-Care program at Hemphill is excellent. They assist with problems the children are having academically, keep the children entertained, and they're always in a good mood when they get picked up.
