Heritage is an excellent school; a true "jewel" in the public school system. The teachers and staff care about the students, there are a variety of programs, and we just love having a little "hawk".
Heritage Elementary is an awome school. My son has gone to Heritage for five years now and we moved to the area because of the school. The parents in the area are very supportive of the school.
My wife and I are really excited to be living in HIghland Village and for our children to attend Hertiage Elementary. The principal is great and all the teacher seem to really care about the children and provide excellent educational opportunities! Cub Scouts is also great for life skills, leadership and principal centered decision making!
Wonderful teachers! Kids are excited everyday about school. teachers make learning fun & interesting for students
We are now in our 4th academic year at Heritage Elementary. And although I feel the intent of the administration is good, I too fear (as noted in a previous review) that all of our children are being short handed. Not only is the academic curriculum geared towards the TAKs test; but, moreso, I feel the children are not receiving the individual attention they need. Fortunately, my children are able to keep up; but, I feel their individual academic needs are just as overlooked as the students who require more attention. To compound the problem, the administration is very reluctant to address issues. In fact, in all my years involved with public education, I have never encountered an elementary school with a more sterile, almost cold vibe.
Heritage is a great school! My children are learning a lot. The teachers are superb and so is the PTA. I would highly recommend this school.
My children transferred into the Lewisville ISD, and more specifically into Heritage, after spending the first half of their school careers elsewhere. I have found nothing but disappointment with the school and the district. The academic program is merely a training ground in TAKS, frustrating for myself and for my children. The extracurricular activities are virtually nonexistent, it was hard to go from a school that offered 6-7 before and after-school programs to one that offers so few and no before-school programs at all. The parent involvement is relative only socially, not academically. Since enrolling my children at this school I have encountered one problem after another. I am deeply disappointed not only with the quality of this school but also with all the other issues my family has faced with this school.
The overall quality of academic programs is very good. Most teachers are very dedicated to their students and are very willing to work with the family on any level. The PTA at this school is very active and very supportive of the teachers. PTA has a wide range of programs that are available to every student.
Heritage has been a great school for us so far; we have one child in first grade. The teachers all seem so positive, caring, truly dedicated to teaching my child. The school is very organized in every way and the principal very hands on and caring about every student. I have been very happy and satisfied. I had considered homeschooling or private school and feel that Heritage far surpasses both so far.
