Born and raised in Holland, and must say that while I was there I thought it was a drag...everyone knowing everyone and everything about you. Now that I am out of Holland and living in a larger city nearby, I must admit that I miss the town and the schools. My children attend much larger schools, and I feel they miss out on many of the academic opportunities I had even 15-20 years ago. I also work for another school district, but Holland remains to offer a top-notch education with some of the best teachers in Texas.

Way too small and limited for social experiences for a teenager. 25-30 students per class and very little variety for friendships. The teachers weren't bad. You typically go to school with mostly the same kids from K-12 and unless you are one of the few popular kids, it is very lonely. College was a huge eye opener for me. A lot more students gave me a much greater social life and a much larger appreciation for diversity and having some choice in friendships. The education wasn't bad at all, but the overall social and living experience was awful. It's just a very isolating and lonely place.

I graduated from Holland High in 1985, I loved it then and I love it now. My oldest daughter just graduated and I have two more in High School this year. It can't be beat... The town of Holland is so involved with the school, every child counts. The teachers in Holland are wonderful, they push each child to do their very best. Holland offers Jr's and Sr's College at no charge. I am very proud to live in Holland and have my children in school here...

While the school may be small in size, it far exceeds expectations in the area of academics. If you want your child to learn, send him here!

Holland is a small school district, composed of a lot of good students raised mostly in the surrounding rural areas of Holland, this includes transfer students who have choosen to attend Holland. The school gives our children various opportunities that aren't available in even the larger schools in this area. A junior &/or senior may attend college through the 'early entrance college program', funded totally by the school. My daughter entered Texas A&M with 23 college hours to her credit; they were all transferable. Our son is still a H.S. student and has been allowed many opportunities; Early Entrance College Program, JMG Pal Program, National Honor Society, F.F.A. Dist. officer, and the list goes on. I must say I do work in another school district but have been pleased, overall, with Holland's performance record and my childrens education. They're small enough to still care!
