New leadership, new discipline, great place for students and where faculty excel. Test scores and student achievement are better than ever.

I am a recent graduate from HHS. In my opinion, it was an excellent school to graduate from. The staff was genuinely interested in the success of students and helping students achieve their college dreams. I really enjoyed being a student there.

I'm a student at this school and its a joke, most of the teachers do not really care about the students as they care more about themselves who cannot even follow the schools rules. If the teachers cannot follow the rules or treat us like we are living human beings then trash, why should we treat them with any respect or care about the rules? I've been here for a while now and I've hardly enjoyed anything except for a very small handfull of teachers who actually care and try to make the learning fun and not a chore in which we learn more. Take the history teacher who is also a coach, if you ask I'm sure 99% or more will say they have learned a lot from him. Whats more this school just cares about money.

I would have to agree with the low standards of excellent this school district sets. My step son who is in high school has a lower than middle school language arts level than my son who attends a different district in the same county. My son's middle school spelling words are harder than Hooks High. Which only proves these children are held to a lower standard, to me which means Lower education levels. How can you hope to reach a level of excellent if your high school students can not even spell middle school words or know their meaning?

I am a current student at Hooks High School. I think it is a wonderful place for learning. The band program is great. I am really appreciative of this school.

Hello, I'm a graduate of Hooks High School and I must say that the school and the education that is offered is on of the best academic programs out their. The sports program is one of the best their is and allot of prospects have come from Hooks such as Jeremiah trotter, Billy Simms, and a whole lot more. The School makes sure that parents are involved and I haven't heard of many schools that have teachers that have taught your parents. My principal was Mr. Duncan, and I must say he was old school. He knew every student by first name and last name. I must say that He truly cared for his students and he made sure that discipline and order was instilled. The Coach's are the best also.

Hooks ISD has not been a great experience for either our children or us as parents. There has been at least one teacher who has told our daughter that she did not want to teach the class she was assigned to. The High School Principal does not want to be unpopular so he allows things to happen which should not. The children at this school are not motivated to do well and so they have low standards. I advise that any parent who wants a quality education for their children to not move to this school district.
