We have been here for the past year. We really like this school environment. It is very unpretentious. The teachers genuinely care for each and every kid. It has a small class size, great 1-1 attention. Our child had a difficult transition to any school environment since she was home for 2 years but the teachers were very reassuring and very very patient with her as she became acclimated to being outside of home everyday all day. We continue to enjoy our experience here and plan to be here until we transition to K.
The academic level is great, But I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. After three year in this school, we were not happy with the inconsistency of the contract, my kid was potty trained and the tuition never went down, even though they said it will after being potty trained; some new parents had two weeks off tuition per year and that was never offered to us (being there for three years, wich tells me there is preference, when I asked, she said it was no longer available). We gave notice and I have to complain about the way one specific teacher treated me -as a parent -when she learned we were moving on. She was rude and disrespectfull in front of the kids and the other teachers, and no one will stop her, saying that I owed them money when my payments were all up to date. When I told the owner what happened she looked at me with disbilief almost as if she didn't care. We took our child and never came back.
Our son has been attending Sheridan Montessori School since age 4 months, and he is now 2 years old. We could not be happier with our choice. The teachers have decades of experience and are very loving and attentive. Our son is excited to go to school and loves his teachers. At 2 years old he speaks in sentences, sings songs, does some counting, knows several shapes, colors, numbers and letters. We feel very blessed to have found this school.
The staff here is fantastic with each and every child. My daughter is a fantastic reader and we owe it all to the ladies at Sheridan. They do not have large classes and they combine ages, but this was the absolute best decision I ever made for my child. I could have picked any school in Houston, but this one gave my daughter individual attention every day. At 5 years old, she can read at the third grade level. Thank you Ms. Eunice and Ms. Gisela.
