I attended Truitt Middle School in the late 90's, and my younger brother in the early 2000's. My experience at Truitt was rather pleasant for the most part. The teachers are great. I've never had a complaint about the staff. They are nice and friendly as long as you return the same courtesy. The school has some great extracurricular programs. I was played football and was in band, and enjoyed both very much. The only downside to this school is the students. While the teachers and staff are very nice, the students can be a bit rough. If you have a nice kid who hangs out with the right crowd, he should be fine. From my experience, it's generally the kids who hang out with the bad crowd who get into fights and other sorts of trouble. Bullying isn't a huge issue at this school, or at least that was the my and my brother's experience. However, a bullying issue can pop up here and there. If it happens it's usually within their cliques. Yes, from my experience students are very cliquish at this school. Overall a good school and as long as your kid hangs out with the right crowd he/she will be fine.
My daughter goes to this school. She enjoys her studies and each day looks forward to go to this school. The 7th grade teachers have been so helpful that she has developed a love for her studies. They have kept her motivated till the year end. For a student coming from abroad, this school proved to be a blessing... Thank you Truiit.

My daughter is currently a student of Truitt and she loves her school! She does really well in all her classes and I am so proud of her. Ms. Licata is her orchestra teacher and she is amazing! My daughter was placed in advanced orchestra after only playing for 8 months. If you are intersted in the arts this school is great!

School administrators need to take a closer look at all the behavioral problems this school has. Truitt has a lot of great teachers, but discipline problems is a BIG issue at this school. I think it is about time the district gets involved and investigates the matter, otherwise, as a concerned parent, I will move to a different district.

Truitt Middle School has many great teachers & and also some problems. Many teachers were very helpful to me when I had problems espacaily the sixth grade AP.They also have a great orchestra, which I was a part of.Though it is not very well known with most people.I had the best begginer orchestra teacher, Ms.Licata.She was byfar the best teacher I have ever had. She did very well for her first year here.I give her 5 stars. But there are also many fights here, the AP's and the principal try to help with the situation, but they dont always work.I think they need to pay more attention to the students & it would help.

When a problems students do something wrong the whole class gets punished. It is not a bad school at all, good teachers very nice school enviroment and the best orchestra teacher and class. It also has extra activities for students. What I stated earlier , I think is its biggest problem

I am a student in my second year at Truitt. There are many discipline problems, and even though I am an E-conduct and straight-A student, I constantly find myself taking punishment from teachers because of other kids. These have not been my favorite years of schooling, and while I would like to give praises to Glenn Kirk and Terry Lloyd for making these years bearable, I think the school still has too many things to work on. It has not been taken care of, and is not a place that I would send my child.

I think parents need to be more pro-active (we're our kids advocate) in their child's life especially during this phase of their education and the influence of peer pressure, which can leave an negative impact when entering Senior High. It appears that the speciality programs for the kids are more in tune with our children than those teachers of their core subjects. Praises goes to Ms. Lafferty and the after school tutorial programs for reading and math.

Truitt has some great teachers and a wonderful Theatre Arts program. There are some problems with discipline though. Good kids are getting beat up and bullied by bad kids and the teachers and principles find it easier to punish both kids instead of investigating whether or not these kids are just being attacked and trying to defend themselves. The school has some responsibility but I blame the parents of these bullies! I bet they've never even set foot inside their childs school!

I do not want my child going to this school. There is no parent involvement, the kids are out of controll, and it seems like no one cares. I can't go to school everyday and make sure my child is safe and learning. Until the district makes some serious changes, we are moving aout of the distrcit not to return.

Has some disciplinary promblems that need to be addressed, good kids are suffering because of bad ones. Great band program, but school is becoming like a war zone with fighting, etc.

My son went to Truitt for 3 years and my daughter is in her third year there. There are some very good teachers at Truitt that I beleive do not get the credit they deserve. I would like to see a higher level of academic acheivments thought.

A delightful school with many outstanding qualities. Parents are not always extreamly invlolved, but enough to get by. Theater Arts, Band, Orchestra, and Art all have great teachers and are available in 6th grade.
