This school loses teachers each year because of how the principal treats them. They go and look for jobs at better schools. Especially in younger grades. Your child will do well on TAKS because TAKS and attendance are all the principal cares about. The teachers are hard working (I think there scared of the principal) but there's always a chance your child might get a brand new teacher who is just starting out because it is hard to retain good teachers who will put up with the principal.

My son did extremely well has been there from pre k til 4th grade , has been commended in all areas of taks , the principal is very strict , personally i dont think she is the friendliest person , she never shows her face and that is one of the things i dont like , but academically she pushes students and is on top of teachers now school is exemplary 2 years in a row , strict with attendance that is why most people don't like her because she sends nasty letters to parents who don't send their children to school for the hell of it . This principal taught me the importance of attendance I hated her letters the first year so there after 3 yrs in a row perfect attendance your child looses instruction hours unless he is really sick no need to miss. Ms Palacios be nicer

The school prinicipal tries to intimidate parents who would like to be more involved. No PTA. It is okay but nothing special. The school does have accomodating hours for parents that would like to meet with the teachers. School uniform is required at all times. No free days like other surrounding schools.
