I have two children in SOE. One is a third grader and the other is in Kinder. Since we started at SOE, we have been pleased with the school overall. The staff have been very attentive to any questions/concerns that have ever come up. The principle is very approachable. All the teachers have been great with the exception of one somewhat mediocre teacher. One thing that it lacks is diversity (we are Hispanic by the way) since the school is mainly Hispanic. From what I have heard from my neighbors (majority Caucasian) is that diversity is one of their top concerns. Well I say this, if you don't send your kids there, then how do you expect it to change? Bottom line is that if parent involvement is key too all schools and to ensure that your child is getting placed in the best situation.
5/04 - We've just completed our first year at Shadow Oaks and LOVE the school. We were on transfer to another school and had our transfer revoked because of space issues. We were concerned about the large percentage of spanish-speaking only children at Shadow Oaks and that the language barrier would hold our children back, but once enrolled we found out that there are classes for the children who speak predominately Spanish and no Spanish is spoken by the teachers to students in the classes our children attended. We hope more families in the neighborhood will bring their children to Shadow Oaks. The administration and faculty are great. Come see for yourself.. it really is a wonderful school! Kym & Jimmy Jump
