Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I have worked with young children for over 18 years in several centers but my "roots" began at Creative Corner! Pamela Humphries had just moved into her Audry Lane location and I was one of the first teachers hired to work in that center. I remember waiting for the building to be completed so I could get started working with young children! Mrs. Humphries taught me so much and as I worked for her I learned that her school had the best reputation in the area for education of young children. Teachers were held to a high standard and from her successes through the years I can see that they still are! Her program and philosophy has always been that children be exposed to educational experiences as well as creative artisitic ones as well. I only wish I still lived in the area so I could still work for Creative Corner! Andrea (Debbie) Deshotel

My children attend Creative Corner. This pre-school is amazing! The teachers are so wonderful and they truely care about the children. My 3 year old has blossomed while attending Creative Corner! She is learning new things every day. I know that she will be very prepared when she starts kindergarden! I have a 4 mth old in the nursery there and I am so pleased with the care he recives. The teachers interact with the babies and they love on each one of them. It is so wonderful knowing you are leaving your children in caring hands! They are very observant of the childrens needs-emotionaly, physically and mentally. The Director is so incredible. She takes time to listen to the parents and keeps things running very smoothly. I have only wonderful things to say about Creative Corner!

I love the school and they also have a daycare at another location , I love both of them the school director and her assistant are always on top of things, they are very patient specially when my child had a hard time staying due to anxiety of being in a new place , they never frowned or complained they always reasured him and myself , curriculum is excellent my son is learning so much , I also had a nephew that went there for 4 years and is now in middle school at cunningham ,has never struggled always receiving commended on taks , i believe creative corner provides children with a good base for school, if they get a good base in early years your child will never struggle in the future .

My daughter has attended Creative Corner since she was 2 1/2 yrs old. She is now going to be 7 in a month. She absolutely loves it there, but first & foremost she loves the teachers! With every different grade (Pre-school 1,2 & 3: kinder & 1st grade) came a new teacher and she loved them all. Also, the curriculum they use is fantastic! I can remember she was already writing her name in Pre-school and her reading amazes my husband & I. I have refered my family members to this school and would absolutely refer it to anyone else looking for daycare or private schooling. These ladies do an awesome job all under the direction of Mrs. Humphries -way to go Pam! My daughter is going to definitely miss everyone. 'Creative' really does give true meaning to the school and the hard work that these teachers do. r saucedo

Our daughter began attending Creative Corner since last summer when she turned three. She absolutely loves all of her teachers and staff that greets her, she loves her 'friends', and loves learning. My husband and I are very pleased with the fact that she has developed using her fine motor skills, developed early literacy skills, writes her name, has increased her vocabulary tremendously, counts, and can even recognize some sight words. Again, she is only three! At home we have noticed she loves to 'read' books by looking at the pictures and her pretend play has become much more imaginative in a positive manner. I can see that Creative Corner has high expectations and that is what makes them so successful. We appreciate all that Creative Corner does. As a teacher and parent, I am very proud of their program and would recommend them without hesitation...jj

My son attended CC for two years for pre-k and Kindergarten. He entered first grade at public school and was tested for the GT program. At our meeting, his teacher informed me that he was reading on an 8th grade reading level. I was extatic. He had a great foundation started for his education due to Creative Corner. He remained in the GT program through out school and as a Sr in high school, in all AP classes. This was all due to the positive foundation he was taught at CC. His teachers (some still employed there) and the leadership from Pam Humphries molded his future in a very positive way. They sincerely care about the kids and the parents involvement. I recommend this school to anyone and could not be more thankful to the staff at CC. He loved attending which made me even more thankful.

Creative Corner has been such a blessing to our family!! The loving care from all personnel, from the Director all the way to the lunchroom assistant, have made me feel so secure in the knowledge that my kids are with someone at all times who loves them and cares for them just as I would if I were with them! On top of that, their academic program is beyond compare--my kids are/were reading--by themselves--before kindergarten! The love for reading that was instilled in them by their school will help them value reading as they progress through their education. Thank you, CC! and Thank You, Ms. Humphries, for providing such an outstanding program for the children of the North Channel area! We love you!

I have had both of my children attend Creative Corner. The foundation that they received in their education was phenomonal. My son is now in first grade at a public school and my daughter will attend elementary school next fall and they are both better prepared for school than most other kids in their grade level. They will continue to attend the after school program at Creative Corner. I am very thankful for all the staff their for their comittment to young children's education.

Creative Corner is and has been an excellent experience for my daughter. She is in Kindergarten and reading at a 2nd grade level. Her teachers love her as if she is their child. The feedback has always been positive and I am saddened that she cannot attend 1st grade as they will no longer offer it next year. I am confident that upon entering public school next year she will be advanced and in the GT program. This would not be possible if it weren't for the nurturing environment and advanced curriculum that Ms. Humphries and her staff have instilled in their students.

My daughter attended this school for 3years. She is now in the 1st grade and currently participates in their after school program. I am at peace knowing that my child is in a secure environment with caring individuals. The curriculum used provided my daughter with a strong foundation in reading.

My son has been attending Creative Corner for the past two years, and even though it saddens me the school will not be continuing with their first grade curriculum, I am confident my son will have all the skills he will need to excel in public school. His reading and math skills are exemplary and I give all credit to his dedicated teachers at creative corner. The teachers really go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure all children go beyond the basics. I can truly see the results and I know my child I getting a top notch education. My child went from being a shy child who struggled to read and has blossomed into a bright, well mannered, and outgoing child who in turn reads me bedtime stories!! I am so proud of his achievements and simply cannot thank everyone enough, from the director to the support staff, for doing a superb job. S Garza

This is my baby's first year at Creative Corner and I just love it. I even told all my friends to enrol their kids so their kids would not miss the chance/opportunity with the school's experience. . My baby is 4 years old and I am amazed with the words she uses when describing words. She already knows how to read and write and can even add and subtract. Go Creative Corner!

My son has been in the CC pre-K program and I have already enrolled him in Kindergarten there next year. Within a month of attending the school, my son could READ! He can also add and subtract and he has learned tons of Spanish vocabulary. We are so proud of what he has learned. In addition, he loves going to school. It is such a warm, friendly environment. His teacher has so much love for her students. I have been extremely pleased with every aspect of the program and highly recommend it!

I have enjoyed both of my children's experience with Creative Corner. I feel like CC gave my son a wonderful head start for school and he is currently excelling in the classroom because of the skills that they teach . My youngest is currently learning new things everyday. I am so impressed by the teacher's love and dedication for all of the children. As an educator, I know the gift one has to have to teach children and I highly recommend CC to anyone who wants a school that provides a strong learning and loving environment. A. Sterling

My son, niece and cousin all currently attend CC in different classes and are doing fantastic!!! My Daughter attended from the age of 3 years old through 1st grade. CC did an excellent job preparing her for Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart where she is a straight A student in 5th grade. ALL of the teachers that have not moved on to advance in their careers remember my daughter and hug her each time she comes in to pick up her brother. I appreciate the fact that CC will work with parents to rectify poor behavior within the classrooms. Like all parents, we want the best for our children and when teachers are required to focus on poor behavior constantly it negates the ability to teach the other children. I would recommend CC to everyone!

My children went to this school and had great experiences. We started off with both of our children having learning disabilities and now they are in the Gifted and Talented at Crosby ISD. In addition to being in GT they are also both in Accelerated Math . The director/owner of this school had patience with us and our children. She walked us through the process of having our children evaluated and never stopped asking us if we needed more assistance. She definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. If anyone has had problems with her or the staff, then they were obviously not being active in their children s school life or taking recommendations/advice from this extremely experienced, educated, and caring person! Anyone wanting their children to get ahead and start their kids on the right track to having a solid foundation for education and etiquette, then Creative Corner is it!

Having moving here from LA, where my daughter attended a great Montossori school, I was very careful when chosing a preschool program. She had gained so much information and I wanted to continue the progress she had made. CC was recommended to me by a coworker. I have been very pleased with the care, support, education that my daughter has received. My only problem is that she wants to ride the 'big bus' to school everyday. Hats off to Creative Corner's Teachers, Director, and Staff! T. Murphy

My son looks forward to going to school everyday, because the teachers care for him and his class mates and treat them very well. He is learning spelling, arithmetic, and reading at a quick pace. the only problem I have is that there will be no first grade next year for my son to attend. The teachers are great and do their job very well.

I have two sons at Creative Corner. My oldest has been attending since the age of 2 1/2 and he is now 5 and this is my 3 year olds first year and they constantly come home excited about what they learned that day. The staff is genuinely interested in the kid s progress and has put together a great curriculum. We are absolutely blessed and thankful that we found this daycare. We would highly recommend looking into Creative Corner if you are interested in the best daycare for your child. Thank you Ms. Pam and staff.

Personal experience with the director was unprofessional and at times very uncivil. All we heard from the director was all the wonderful things other parents have said so why are we so unhappy. It was as if our concerns fell on deaf ears and we were wrong no matter what happened and the director was right & perfect. One of the teachers that was part of our experience didn't have a genuine heart for kids. It was always about the negative never about the positive. That is a very hard attitude for any child to overcome. It was our choice, not theirs, but we ultimately stopped business altogether. There were 4 other teachers though, 2 of which are no longer there, that were absolute angels and loved the children as if they were their own children.

My daughter attended this school from Kindergarten thru second grade and she would have stayed there had they gone up any further in grade levels. This school is an excellent basis for learning and it also opens your child's mind to the arts and culture and manners. I was so lucky to have found this school when we moved to the area.

This is my child's first year at Creative Corner. I was looking for a school with an experienced early childhood staff to help my summer birthday son develop his social skills. He has blossomed and I've been thrilled with his teacher's willingness to go the extra mile including meeting with me on her own time. The director's advice on tips for home have been great also. I taught at an exemplary elem. school for years, so my standards are high. This school meets them.

This was and still is a great school! Both of my children were original students when CC started 23 years ago. The programs were wonderful then and have only gotten better and stronger. My kids went on to be honor students right into college. We have kept in contact with the school and know many of the staff. Pam Humphries and her staff are warm, loving and nurturing educators. Just wish the experiences and education a child receives at CC could be spread throughout the public school system. Our world would be a much better place!

I have been a teacher at Creative Corner for the past 15 years, and can proudly say we are the best. Our gifted students excel is a progressive reading and math program, as well as enjoy a well-rounded wealth of information in core and support subjects. The K-2nd grade music department at Creative Corner is exceptional with classes in Music History/Composers twice a week and several musical performances during the year. A well-received tradition at the end of the school year is an opera. The entire student body (Pre-School thru 2nd grade) participates. 'Seeing Is Believing', our focus couldn't be a better illustration of Creative Corner. See for yourself our doors are always open.

We are two professional musicians as well as teachers who have voluntarily provided some musical experiences for the children at Creative Corner. We were very impressed with this school, its leadership and in general the happiness of the children. Mrs Pamela Humphries and Mrs Joan Van Fleet in particular were absolutely wonderful and provided a great learning environment for the children.

I do not have any children at this school but know the owner Pam Humphries and one of the teachers Joan VanFleet. I have the utmost respect and highest regards for both of these individuals. I know that Pam requires the highest qualities in her staff. I have seen some of her students perform at some of the community functions in the area and they are very well disciplined.

Creative Corner is the best early education you could hope for! Our eldest son just received several academic awards as a 7th grader- now in all honors & Gift & talented classes he loves to read, which I emphatically attribute to his preschool & elementary education from Creative Corner. Our youngest is now in Pre-K there & is reading everything he can! When recently asked if we were going to move him to the local public elementary school next year for Kindergarten, I emphatically stated no way! He will continue the tradition @ CC. The programs our children are exposed to at this school are of the highest caliber! The staff are a true reflection of their leader, Pam Humphries -under her direction the teachers & children truly flourish! Between their academics, music & Spanish they have no time to get bored. Trust me this school is unsurpassed by any other!

As a parent and an educator, I am always amazed by the program that Creative Corner offers.I worked for Ms. Humphries at Creative Corner for 5 years and her attention to detail and her devotion to her staff and students is unparalleled. The program is the most advanced program academically I have ever seen anywhere in Houston Texas. The staff at Creative Corner instills a passion for learning .The children are actually enthusiastic when given a challenge! The entire program for 2 1/2 year olds through the afterschool program incorporates a healthy balance between academics, play , music, art, and self expression. The summer program is just as amazing! I am still contacted by former parents who want to share their child's success in Middle School or High School which they directly attribute to their child's foundation at Creative Corner. I consider it an honor to have been part of the Creative Corner Staff.

I work in the Galena Park ISD as a high school administrator, and both of my children (ages 3 and 5) attend Creative Corner. I love everything about this fabulous school! Both of my children have made enormous academic progress this school year. Previously, they were cared for in a private home setting, which kept them loved, safe and well-fed, but lacked academic enrichment. My three year-old can now count to 20 in English and Spanish, and knows her shapes, colors, and other basic words in Spanish as well. My five year-old, who is in Pre-K (he has a Jan. birthday), is reading entire books and sounding out words as high as three syllables, correctly! He also is adding and learning about what I would consider advanced number concepts. I now have a problem most people would envy: I wonder if he will be sufficiently challenged in Kindergarten. I love CC!

I started working at Creative Corner while in high school, I continued to work there for almost three years. Nothing compares to the education and care that your child will receive. I worked for other schools in the area for about six months and then came back to work for Mrs. Humphries. Her program is the best in the area. If you want to give your child a great start on there education then Creative Corner is the place for you.
