I feel the Tuition should be lowered unless they put more money in the classroom and library. I did not see any Smart boards and the library is very small. I expect more for the $$$. However there is a New Principle from a wonderful private school in the museum Distriic, I strongly feel she will bring much needed change - even the halls are bland, no crown molding or anything? for a $10k price tag I expect more. I am considering this for my child but I am not impressed by the building -hopefully the teachers are a plus!! I hope the Principle really shakes things up, or else this school my die a slow deliberate death.
Wesley is a wonderful school community! Staff, teachers, and families work together for the best interests of each student. Wesley is one of the best private schools in West Houston.
All classroom teachers are certified in the state of Texas or another state, or working on certification in their content area. Early childhood teachers are certified with a Child Development Associates Certificate, or are working toward that certificate. Wesley teachers are kind and nurturing teachers, and are always sensitive to student needs.
Let me give you a few examples that left us with the decision to leave. First, teacher made a very inappropriate comment last year to some middle school students. The teacher received no reprimand. From discussions among parents, this is not the first incident of this nature. Second, I specifically asked if all the teachers were certified by the state of Texas, & was told Yes. I later searched the State Board of Education s certification records, & was not able to locate certifications for some of the teachers employed at Wesley Academy. Third, the treatment of the children at the school was very disappointing. A teacher called two students stupid in front of their peers , & an administrator verbally threatened one. These alone are very valid reasons for parents wanting to remove their children.
Christian environment, with an excellent teaching staff.
My daugther attended Wesley Academy in the 5th grade. An excellent school with keeping God as the visionary source in children!
wow what a nurturing school. the staff is so warm and you know instantly this is where you want your child to be. the staff and teachers go wayyyyyy out of their way to make you feel comfortable and I am so glad our family has found its way to Wesley Academy in Houston, Texas.
My children are excited every morning to get to go to Wesley Academy.
I love Wesley Academy for the wonderful education my children receive, for the friends we have made that we now call family, for an administration that goes above and beyond to serve, for teachers who give so much of their talent, time, and even financial resources, the sports programs, the support of the church, and too many more to list.
I love Wesley Academy. My son and my daughter both attend Wesley. They provide great knowledge and a wonderful nurturing environment. The teachers and administration are ALWAYS polite and willing to help with any problem. It is the best decision my family has made for my children.
