The teachers teach your child how they learn best, all while raising the level of expectation. This builds selfconfidenence and the kids desire for achievement. If they're brought along in a positive manner it encourages them to stay positive even when studies become more difficult, they persevere through it.
We've been apart of the Wesley community for over 10 years. With 2 children attending there. They love and nurture your kids, and provide a safe and secure learning environment for them to thrive. They bring each child along to their full potential by differentiating instruction in the classroom to reach each child. Every child learns differently, and Wesley understands that. Lots of individual attention is given to the kids because they keep the class sizes small. There is no "teaching to the test" , they do benchmark testing every year. The kids respect and really care about one another. As parents, you are definitely part of your child's education. The teachers want to hear from you and welcome it. You build a relationship with the teachers all for the success of your child. The parents are warm and welcoming, you really become a family there, teachers, students and parents.
I would like to thank Ms.Elaine Pendergrass. She is our head of school and a teacher as well. She has done an amazing job as principal over the past couple years. Also, she teaches us about God and the Bible. We love Ms.Elaine!! Also, I'd like to thank Ms.Joanne Crowell, our middle school dean and math teacher. Up until 6th grade, when I got Ms.Crowell, I absolutely hated math and I was so bad at it! She totally changed my perspective on math and now, I love math so much and it is my best subject! She is the best teacher I've ever had and everyone loves her!!
Wesley Academy has given me, as a student, the best experience possible in any school. The teachers are amazing- each of the middle school teachers is upstairs early for tutorials and also stay late for any help you need. Wesley is very personalized to fit any child's needs. I'm in 8th grade now and have been a student at Wesley Academy since first grade. I could not feel more ready for high school. Another amazing thing about my school, is how much of a family we are. We have some new students and parents this year who wouldn't trade this school for anything. Our strong Christian education also builds Faith, Character, and Knowledge.
We have been at Wesley for 7 years and are extremely happy. The class sizes are small, the teachers individualize instruction and care about each child and the children feel safe and accepted while achieving his or her full potential. Wesley weaves the Christian faith into every aspect of the curriculum. Our children are learning and growing academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
