My son had a bitter experience when he was In the Kindergarden!!! He used to get hit by the other student in front of his teacher who had no experience at all. In addition, the school was so small, boring, and lack activity that should instill inquisitiveness inside the student, so i moved my baby from the school that supposed to be better than HISD. Do not register your babies in it .

I am an educator and I find it my responsibility to warn prospective parents about this school. This school is not free. It is funded by Fethullah Gulen. Please do a search about Harmony and Fethullah Gulen. How can I be so sure? Because I was one their best students. I went to their tutoring schools (all independent on the surface) in Turkey. I did very well in the national university entrance exams and they tried to convince me to join the army and become their informant. Because my family was secular, they thought my ties to them could not be traced. Why do you think the teachers are so dedicated for so little money? They are soldiers of Gulen who is taking over Turkey as of today.

This school is supposed to be a *science* academy, but the majority of their science teachers are inexperienced and cannot speak English properly. The select few who can apparently take maternity leave just before AP exams, leaving her students with a random substitute. Teachers who cannot get their maternity leave in the middle of the year at other schools, come to teach at HSA Houston.

I'm actually a former student of Harmony Science in San Antonio. Long story short-- it's terrible!!! The teachers are sexist, they helped a boy in my class with a smile on there face, and when I asked them a question, they looked at me with a blank stare and as if I was nothing and just nodded. Well thanks! Idk if Houston's the same way, but I'd rather stay on the safe side!

My children attend Harmony Nature Science in Dallas, TX. This school is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for. I am so excited my kids got in here couldn't be more pleased. Oh and the school itself is absolutely gorgeous. Marble floors when entering sleek leather sofas and all of the technology you could imagine. This is a brand new location but I am excited about with the future holds. Finally a great school with discipline and education. Very well educated teachers.

I am currently employed at HSA in El Paso, Texas. For the past three years I've had great pleasure of working with the best Teachers & Administrators. HSA has a strong focus on education & dicipline and is highly recommeded by me for any parent to visit and tour our school.

This school is quite good, they're really serious when it comes to education. Except the fact that the school is way to small for 6 grades. They need to separate the middle and high schools.

This school seems focused on competitions and winning prizes and bringing laurels to HSA at the detriment of the students' studies . I am disappointed and disenchanted. I might withdraw my daughter soon. They seem confused about the grading system. Just focused on TAKS and other tests and be seen as an examplary school.

I absolutely love this school. They teach you how to learn things one grade above you and teach you advanced subjects that you wouldn't learn in other schools. Great school, great teachers, great learning - Marc Rinosa 7th Grade Harmony Science Academy 7A

A great school: small classes, dedicated teachers, a diverse school population, friendly and accessible staff where every one seems to know each other. A school focussed on excellence and getting the best out of students. Xenophobic people who dislike people with accent, please keep away! I trust this school with my girl and believe that she would get a good education.

Harmony does not center it's goals on a well-rounded student, but focuses mainly on TAKS scores and 'Gifted and Talented' students. Music and art are the only subjects offered for extracurricular classes and they are mandatory and minimal.

The academic programs are great. The teachers work with the students very well to help them accomplish their goals, I am very excited about the way they work with the kids on Saturdays. I am very pleased with Harmony and their staff.

My son attends Harmony Science academy, and the school is very good in educating the students. There is a non tolerated talking or acting out in classes, they mean business. The classes are small so my child is noticed about everything that is/isn't done. It prepares for college, and is not on the same level as other schools my son attended. I truly like the school.

The extracurricular activities and one-on-one tutoring have dramatically increased my son's self-efficacy. His overall attitude towards school and his family has changed positively over the years he has been in Harmony Science. He has gained strong study habits and an endless desire for achieving the best possible.

One of the best schools in town. I think the academics is very challenging, students are well-behaved, and teachers are extremely dedicated. It is a strict, and well-disciplined place. Test scores are above state average. I enjoy the strong emphasis on College-Prep and Excellent Character. This school is not for the underachievers or bullies; there is no room for playing around or acting out. The diversity in the school allows new horizons for the students. I want to see my daughter graduate from Harmony Science.

My daughter attended one year in the Harmony Science Academy last year. Maybe teachers have some experience in teaching, but not in English language nor education in the US. Most of them are foreigners, only a couple years in the US. There is some bad language & bad behavior tolerated. Not good communication between teachers. My daughter didn t feel good there. She didn t want to go back.

Harmony Science Academy provides students with the tools to do great academically at school and comprehensively away from school. It is with much appreciation that I witness the positive encouragement given by the teachers and staff. Keep up the great work.

Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
