My 2nd grader attends this school and has since 1st grade. He was moved from another elementary school due to the other school's space, I suppose, but I'm glad. He's in advance classes and still learning...not bored. I like this school...we're looking to move and I will be sad if he changes to another school district.
Principal and assistant principal are awsome and overall teachers have been great thought I have had trouble with transportation (bus driver not running his route correctly and not making all his stops) that is still not resolved. And have had trouble with one teacher. Most of the teachers have met and even exceeded my expectations.
My son is a first year 3rd grader who could not even read. Magrill's staff stepped in and took there time with my child it has oly been 6 months and he can read!!! Thank you ! Magrill
My child went here for about 2 weeks and then I took him out. He was stuck in a portable building all day with the exception of lunch. The kids are not even aloud to talk at lunch which is completly uncalled for as long as they are not disruptive. The playground consists of 4 slides and that's it. All the did in gym was exercise. This school needs a lot of help if you ask me!
I have 2 kids in magrill at the moment and have no complaint. One is ging in the fourth grade and the other in the first. My fourth grader has been there since kinder and i could not be any happier with the staff. The teachers, secrateries and principals are all very nice and care for the students. My kids love school and hate to miss it. They don't offer extracarricular in the school for the choldren, but when it comes to learning the important stuff, they know what they are doing. I'am very proud to be apart of this school.
Magrill is an excellent school. My 15 year old went there and now my 8 year old goes there. The academic programs are excellent and the teachers work very hard with the kids. They have a gifted and talented program that both my girls have been in and has helped them to work extra hard. There is high level of parent involvement in that school. I am going to miss it when we move!
I am very involved in my kids school, which I don't think the principal wants but the teachers sure need the help! I think the school could use more alternative methods of teaching. Too many worksheets and book learning, not enough hands on activities for the kids who learn differently. I also think they don't get enough physical activity.
