I have been looking at the past reviews and they're out of date. As of the 2012-2013 school year this is where my wonderful school stands. Our new princepal ms miller has made a huge difference. She is absolutely wonderful on how she interacts with students and i wish she could have came earlier. Our vice princepal ms garrison is great also she in my eyes as a students keeps everyone im check. You do not want to be on her bad side. And ms. Frosie is absolutely wonderful. Shell listen and understandsbstudents which i really apreciate. Our fine arts are awesome. Our choir is always doing something new and cool. Our band had 26 people auditonbfor region and 10 madenit doubling from last and the most in 18 years.!! I love this school because it truly gives you oppurtunities to slearn and have fun. But there are always those students that have to ruin everything which i really hate. I love the teachers and the counselours are amazing. If your parent wanting to come to austin i hope this persuades you. Your child will for sure have oppurtunities to flourish and theres no bullying that i know of maybe some cliques but your child will find one of his own.

Why do I love this school? Well, quite honestly this school is more than a school. This is an extended family to both our students and faculty. We as a school go out of our way to see the success of our students, not only academically, but athletically and emotionally as well. We care about our kids and our school. Basically if our kids are successful it shows that our teachers are successful as teachers. It's a great school which is why my daughter will be attending this school next year.

We love austin!! i transferred my son from iisd to universal academy and was back asap. If you are thinking of going to universal academy - do your homework, all that's glitter isn't gold. It took one year for my husband and i to realize this was an error that needed to be corrected and quickly. It's good when you say you want parent involvement and mean it!! the teachers will email me with updates, questions, or any information i need to know about my child. Any time i go to the school, even the principal, teachers and her staff knows me, listens to me, even if they don't agree, my voice counts. Anyone can tell me anything i need to know about my son's work at school. I may sound minor but it means a lot to a parent. Love it!!
