In response to the other review, the current principal is certified by the state as a principal and he has shown great leadership in his first full year. He seems to have the respect of his staff and the students all love his attitude and demeanor. The Junior High was the only Recognized campus in the district and this can be traced back to the atmosphere and learning environment provided to the students on a daily basis. There is a veteran staff of teachers who care about the well-being of all students and my child comes home with only good things to say about the Leon Junior High. I am looking forward to my other children experiencing junior high at Leon ISD in the future.

What a disappointment this school is. No NJHS for the kids. The principal they just hired does not have his Masters. He also is not certified to be a principal by the state of Texas. This should come as no surprise as the Superintendent has been in place for 15 years and is still not certified as a Superintendent. The School Board is a joke. Over 30 people applied for the Principal's position. All but 1 was certified to be a principal. The only 2 applicants the Superintendent presented to the board were both current coaches with the district. They hired the uncertified one. Out of a field of 30+ applicants, the School Board hired the only non-certified applicant. What a joke. I would give the Principal leadership zero stars except 1 star is the least you can award.
