Beckendorff is an excellent school! I have two children enrolled there and theu both LOVE their school. I do not believe that there is more work than they can handle there are plenty of opportunities for them to get tutorials from their teachers during advisory and sometimes after school. The teachers put in every effort to hsve your child succeed. KatyISD is the place to be!
I highly recommend Beckendorff JH. My daughter is very, very happy there. Teachers are hands-on REMARKABLE, flawlessly putting their high credentialed qualities to the ultimate test. This is a luxury for every student (& parent!). After all, we're talking about a public sch. No guesswork here, as to the reason(s) this sch ranks top 1% in the state.
Prior to pulling our son from priv sch & investing in our public school tax $, we researched midd schs for >2 yrs. "Beckendorff will s-t-r-e-t-c-h your child's mind." I was told over & over by peer parents. Wow, those parents WEREN"T kidding! Apparently, Beckendorff is proud of this fact. My son is GT & we went w/the half load GT classes vs. going full throttle w/every single content area. He takes a combo PreAP & GT. Parents will immed. detect a curriculum overlap in the 2 programs. This makes it very nice overall. Just be ready, & PREPARE YOUR CHILD. For this is def. a cold reality & a new normal, replete w/above standard expectations & responsibility. The HW load can be described as overkill--but we wouldn't have it any other way. I'm confident my son will eventually thank us for enrolling him in an above level quality education.
Beckendorff is great.Yes,there's a lot of work, but it's excellent, beautiful.,and almost everyone loves the library there. The teachers are kind, understanding, and do try to help students as best as they can.I know, because I GO there!! By the way,Orchestra? It's one of the best and it's won many great awards.
Beckendorff is one of the best schools, but they work their students too much/hard. Their teachers are very friendly, though.
Excellent school communication between teachers and parents is excellent. It saddens me that this is my childs last year here but look forward to her years at Seven Lakes High School..
this school is great and all but there is alot of work
Beckendorff is academically a top notch junior high school. High school credits are offered in eighth grade to help the students maximize their learning potential. The facility is beautiful and is well organized for each grade level. The teachers of BDJH are very caring and ensure that each child is aware of classroom expectations and assignments. Extra curricular (fine arts) activities are excellent. It is a great school, with a great environment for children to learn.
The academic program is just excellent - the classes are divided in A, AP and GT. There are music (orchestra, band, choir), art (drama) and sports(volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, track, etc) activities available and the set-up is great. The communication and the involvement of the parents is very effective.
