it was perfect for the first couple of months then later it went downhill all ways going to the pass room and stuff I hade mixed feelings

My son and I love this school. We are new to the area and my son was wary of changing schools. But, he has made great friends. They are good kids. His grades have been good and he has learned more than at his previous schools. He has even improved on his trumpet. (At his previous school the band teachers catered to the students who got private lessons.) His teachers communicate often with the parents via e-mail updates. And, his grades are regularly updated on the on-line parent access site. Staying in this district will mean an hour drive to and from work everyday. But, I really believe it is worth it.

I love this school, better that bammel middle school this school is great and is in one of the top kisd schools.

The school is racially divided for the most part. Hispanics are the main ethnic group and sadly, most are not good students. The teachers for the most part, however, are great and really do try to help us, but there's very few people who actually care. The cliques are very defined. There have been big problems in the past with several things. If you are with the right people and avoid the trouble, though, school is pretty much okay. I do like the school.

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
