Hemmenway Elementary School

worst and terrible school, I wish I could give no star to this school... I just wish my child won't remember those ugly times. hate hate hate this school!!!!! feel sorry for those people that are stuck believing...

This is a great school with such a dedicated and caring staff. The teachers there truely love what they do. I have watched them educate my son for 3 years in such a way it instilled in him a passion for learning and a respect an admiration for teachers because they really care and want them to achieve and succeed in life. The environment is so encouraging and positive that after my son moved on to middle school I still help in anyway possible as a global volunteer because the staff and students have made such a lasting impression on me.

What a wonderful school! The staff is friendly and the teachers are amazing! I'm excited everyday when my children come home to hear what tell they did in a day at Hemmenway. I appreciate the fact that my children are challenged to do their best academically as well as socially. Thank you, Hemmenway!

I have 2 children in this school. My son is has been in this school since he was in Kinder (he's in 3rd now). There have been no issues whatsoever. The staff and teachers are excellent at keeping me informed of what is going on at the school and when he has tests. My daughter just started Kinder this year but, she has been coming to this school since she was 3 years old for speech therapy. The school has been very helpful in getting her ready to start Kinder this year. Her teacher has been very kind to have weekly progress reports with me so that we are on the same page for her learning. I can not say enough great things about the teachers and staff at the school.

My son is very happy at Hemmenway. He has attended for the past 3 years. He has a close relationship with his teachers, and they keep me informed of his grades and progress. If I ever have a question, the teachers always return calls quickly. The one time there was a discipline issue with my child, it was handled profesionally and quickly. I feel like the whole staff has a interest in my son's education. The school works hard at providing before and after school tutoring and activities. They are fun and my son loves atttending. Every parent/family night we have attended has been informative and fun. I feel blessed to have my son in a school that challenges him and encourages him to reach his highest potential. It's a great feeling when your child is ready for Thanksgiving break to end so they can go back to school and see their teachers and classmates.

My daughters have been hemmenway tigers for the past 4 years, and I couldnt be happier. The teachers are wonderful ,always giving their best effort. The school always looks great and safety is one of their biggest goals. They have afternoon programs that have helped my oldest daughter perform better on he academic work. My children have built relationships with their teachers beyond my expectations, you can really tell my children are a priority. Love the school.

My daughter has been attending this school since she was in kinder (she is currently in 3rd) and I could not be happier. The staff is involved with the kids, always trying new things to make the school a safe, happy, and welcoming environment. All of my daughter s teachers have been amazing to her and myself. The front office staff always has smiles on their faces and are willing to help with any questions I have.

I wish I could give this school no stars!!! This is the worst school I have ever had to deal with. My son was hit in the face a couple times and I never recieved a report of any kind nor actually found out what happened. I took my child out of this school after only 4 months for fear of his safety! If the teachers can't watch my child he doesn't need to be there. Not to mention there is next to no communication with his teachers about work, test or anything else.

This school is wonderful! My son started kindergarten this year, and his teacher is just the best! The staff has also always been very responsive to my questions, and very proactive in helping me to make sure my son is taken care of (they keep me on top of things like my son's lunch account, which bus he should be riding, the recent Open House, etc!). I believe some of the negative complaints below come from a place of frustration from these individuals... and that this frustration probably does not start & end with just the school. Although it's tough to be involved with my son's education (I work full time and we're involved in lots of other activities), I do my best to stay informed & involved, and they've always been very helpful, kind, and responsive!

Ragamuffin school full of in-disciplined kids. I moved my son out of the school this year because bus fights were a daily thing. So glad I did that. Thankfully I had that choice, but feel so sorry for parents whose kids are stuck there. Awful disciplinary environment. No one watching the kids at recess and constant fights. Who's in charge? Nobody!

Horrible, horrible school. They choose not to discipline and the kids act up all of the time.

This school is ok. It needs more research and help with kids with ADHD. Everyone is quick to judge.
