Very pleased with this neighborhood school. The staff that cares about the children and want to see the kids succeed. The parent involvement, along side with the teachers goes hand and hand at this school, the teaches seem to go out of their way to help with the students. I can't say enough about how good this school is. I am proud to say that my child goes to NCE!!!!

As a parent of 3 who moved to katy from Round Rock near Austin, we have been disappointed with this school. The front office staff is generally rude. We have had problems with the teachers and the administration has not been helpful in the situations. Their grading policies are highly subjective to the teacher's whims and we have been given no answers to examples of actual grades based on work. Our child is GT and that has been the one saving grace. His GT teacher is incredible. Overall, this school's staff thinks they are better than they are. I would keep looking if we were moving again.

My daughter attended Nottingham Country last year, it is absolutely the best school ! The teachers are caring professionals and the office staff was always courteous. It is truly a wonderful and nurturing environment. I miss it!

Academically, NCE is beyond outstanding. The climate, however, has significantly changed in the last two years. When my daughter, who is now a sophomore at Taylor, was at Nottingham, parent volunteers were everywhere. The halls were happy and inviting. The school was exemplary every year. My children excelled emotionally, socially, and academically. The teachers remain outstanding, but the welcoming feel is gone. I would love to have it back!!

My child has autism and we have struggled with his schools and placement since he was three. I had been in a different KISD school, but he was not successful. A friend at another website recommended Nottingham because the teachers and special ed staff and the principal are very forward thinking. They understand students with autism and work so amazingly with them and with parents. In the time he started there to now he has made amazing progress. I never imagined he would do so great. The teachers and staff are to get full credit for this. The principal really knows all of the children well and talks to them all the time. She loves the kids and they know it. She and the staff are even mentors to kids!

My husband was transferred to Katy by his company and we had been attending a private school. We thought the children were getting an excellent education there, but when we came to Nottingham, our son and daughter were very far behind in their studies. The teachers worked long hours trying to help catch them up to the other students. The principal was happy to meet with us and provide suggestions. She cared very much about the children and their success and feelings. I can't say enough good things about this school and the amazing teachers. This is a wonderful place to grow up and learn. The staff love and care about all of the kids and the kids really know it.

My daughter just finished Kindergarten at NCE. What a fantastic experience for her! She had an excellent first-year teacher who made every child in the class feel special and valued. The Kinder program is extremely 'busy' and I do not mean busy work; it may seem like it at first but you soon realize that there is a reason for everything they do. The Kinder team teachers work very hard at making sure our children are learning what they need to know in terms of reading, writing, math and so much more. It was an adjustment at first, as all things are, but my daughter picked up on the well thought out routine quickly and is excited about and ready for first grade. The entire staff at NCE should be commended for their hard work and dedication to the education our children.

Our children have been to 3 other KISD Schools, due to re-zoning and then we moved. I have to say that NCE is the best school we have attended. They were behind at first, but with us working with them, along with the excellent teaching staff, they caught up and did well. All their test scores increased during their time at NCE. Our youngest is a 5th grader, unfortunately no longer at NCE, although I wish we were still there - She definitely does not have the homework our older daughter had while at NCE - which concerns me a great deal, since I know what Jr. High requires. I do not think our new school is as good as NCE, even though it is rated highly. In my opinion, NCE is by far one of the best Elementary Schools in KISD.

The education that a child receives in Katy ISD far exceeds other school districts and truly prepares the child for academic success in college. NCE is a Great school! The parent and community support at NCE is outstanding. NCE has a wonderful staff who truly work hard and care about the students. The Aerospace program at NCE is absolutely fantastic. Thanks NCE for 25 wonderful years!

My children attended Nottingham for one year when we moved from Kansas. My children were behind. School was very TAKS oriented and did not realize my 3rd grade son did not learn cursive handwriting. It was disappointing. Principal was an administrator who was not concerned with my childrens adjustment to the move or their well being only the effect the would have on TAKS and

The academic program in Katy ISD is the most outstanding anywhere in the area. It is like receiving a private school education for public school taxes. What an added property value. Given that all KISD campuses are well above average, what distinguishes the individual schools for greatness is the atmosphere and the environment of the campus. Nottingham Country is a loving and caring place that nurtrues all children to succeed. Whether they are welcoming the over 80 Katrina victims their school enrolled or meeting the individual needs of the many foreign students or just encouraging the 'average' child - Nottingham staff consistently show they care. The parents and community are highly involved in the school. It is obvious that not only is learning going on, but students are being taught lifelong skills such as character and compassion. You could not find a better school, in my opinion. NCE is amazing!

I have wanted to share my thoughts on NCE for the past three years that my son has attended there. The teachers impress me so much because they constantly encourage and enable my involvement, even though I'm a two income household, they make it easy for me to stay up to date and as involved as I want to be. My son has soured academically and went from barely being able to read to making 100% in all reading/writing related documents. They have a wonderful program for children that are struggling with reading called REACH. They have a great after school art program that our son loves also. If you go up to the school at lunch time you see several dozen parents joining their children for lunch each day. You rest that assured your child is in good loving hands at NCE!!

NCE is a wonderful environment for children to grow up in. The faculty is very stable - there is not much turnover. This means the students have excellent continuity of instruction and teachers that are committed to them. Parents are very welcomed at the school. NCE is a school where children come first. I am very happy that we live in this attendance zone. We wanted to move into a larger home, but we would only shop for houses in the NCE area, because it is such a special school.

NCE is good, average and above depending who you speak with. It has positive and not so positive aspects. The goal of the principal is to do the best for our children. Ms. Russell seems to do her best with what she can do. She is supportive of her staff first, and then the children and last the parents. The staff is friendly. The state ( I assume) has put alot of pressure on the school to rate high in the TASK program. Alot of time is focused preparing the children for these test that the basics are rushed through. The security has improved to the point it is hard to enter a public school to be involved in your childs education. ( partially due to the times) I feel any school is as great as what you put into your child's education. NCE teachers can be greatful parents care, some do/don't.

Well run school with good administration and K-3 instructors. Grades 4-5 not as impressive. Teachers in these 2 grades seem to be under pressure to prepare students for state standardized testing rather than reinforcing basics and covering material needed to prepare for higher grade levels. However the majority of all teachers seem genuinely interested in the education and well-being ot their students. There many volunteers-probably too many. Often it appears the majority are more interested in promoting the advancement and popularity of their child rather than the improvement of the school. If parents want to volunteer, keep them out of their child's grade and let them help in another area. G/T program promotes (whether unintentionally or intentionally)an elitist attitude among children in program. Acceptance into the program is suspect. Too often children are sons/daughters of KISD employees or PTA office and volunteers.

Although the education is good in the primary grades, it lacks in the intermediate grades. The math and english instruction are very poor in the fifth grade. The students go on to junior high lacking the skills they need in these areas. There is too much parental involvement to the point of arrogance, obnoxiousness, and favortism for their kids only. It seems to be through the years over and over the same group of parents. Other 'normal' parents are sick of it. The aero space program and safety patrols is a joke. Children with straight a's and good behavior all through school don't make the program but over involved parents that have gifted kids with behavior problems and children with poor grades do. The irony is kids in Spec. Ed. Receive less help and money than those in the gifted program and most of the teachers kids are in the gifted program.
