In December of 2013, Principal Carra Fleming joined the Bulldog team. Her enthusiasm for the betterment of all students, replacing retiring staff with highly qualified, excited educators along with partnering with the parents and teachers for the best opportunities for all students has been refreshing. Beck is a positive place. Beck nearly 20 year old building is getting a much needed facelift. My daughter came from an elementary school outside the feeder pattern for Beck. Because all grade levels eat together, there is cohesiveness within each grade, encouragement and excitement. In the Fall of 2015, boys and girls soccer will be added for 7th & 8th grade athletics. Also new this fall, both cheer squads have 12 cheerleaders and 2 mascots (max allowed for both). Beck Backstage theater program allows for shows that have approx 135 members, including actors, techies, makeup and hair, set design and creation, etc... Robotics, math and science, band, orchestra, tech shop/engineering, art, home economics, Junior National Honor Society, etc... Bulldogs thrive thanks to an excellent principal, faculty and staff along with carefully selected educational opportunities. Great place!

The staff in this school are very helpful and responsible. My son is in his eighth grade. He always has enough activities to do. The band is also fantastic. I am happy he enjoys his middle school time.

I have substitute taught in every school in the district and this school is tied for number one. The best part is the respectful students but the staff must share some of the credit because not all "affluent" schools have well mannered students.

Just removed my child and placed her in private school. Best decision I ever made. Finally she's in a place filled with concerned, professional and competent teachers and administrators.

We moved here from rural West Texas. My son is so happy to have finally found a school that really cares about his education and success. From the principals- to the teachers and other staff. They all seem to give 100% to making sure my son felt welcome and accepted from day one.I am amazed at what an impact this school has already had in helping my son's self-esteem and future goal's change to nothing but positive.Thank You Beck!...with much gratitude from a new Beck parent

If you're looking for your child to be lost in an overcrowded mess of a school staffed by lazy and unresponsive teachers....search no more....this is the school for you!

When we relocated back to the Houston area we focused our home search in Katy because of our past positive experiences with KISD. In the years we were away from the area the system, at least as represented by Beck Junior High, completely degraded to a bureaucracy with interest and action aimed toward protecting a false reputation to the detriment of the education and well being of the students. While there was the occasional diamond in the rough, most of the teachers, counselors and administrators we dealt with were lazy, incompetent and intellectually and morally bankrupt. . Prior to this experience our children were honor students active in numerous extracurricular activities. For three years they dwindled in the KISD. In the few months that we have had them enrolled in private school, they have returned to their prior state of enthusiasm for school, they have returned to extracurricular activities and their grades and test scores have increased dramatically. Removing them from this school system was among the best things we have done for their future.

My point of view is that Katy ISD is one of the best and most challenging school district in the state if not in the country. Katy ISD has so many programs to help every student strive in there learning.

I am a student at Beck and I can say that we have a very good staff and the school cares about its students. The principle is a retired army officer. He knowes how to lead and keep up the moral of the students.

A nice clean school with good facilities and generally good staff. Very good band program and lots of extra curricular activities available. Only three stars due to the quality of the maths homework assignments, poorly worded questions and incorrect marking causes pupils a lot of confusion and greatly hampers there progress. Hopefully next year this will be sorted out and Beck can be awarded five stars.

My son recently transferred from a private church school in the memorial area. The staff at Beck is professional, helpful, and encouraging. We wasted thousands of dollars when we could have been at the area public schools. My son feels he is receiving a much better and in depth education than at the private school. Most of all, his self esteem has improved significantly being around teachers and administrators who believe in their students. We are pleasantly surprised.

Academic programs are the best in this school! ranging from academic to GT, u'll find teh right one for your child. extracurricular activities are of high standard around here! you'll find the best drama club in katy: Beck Backstage, which puts on two plays a year, some of the best plays ever! The choir, band, and orchestra programs go all out to prepare kids for various contests. Art students here win various amounts of prizes. Parent volunteers are well treated and parents' feedback are always taken into account. Teachers are always there to support children and even the kids are polite and intelligent. Beck Junior High is one of the safest schools in KISD, and has a very nice atmosphere! This is by far one of the best schools in KISD!
