My daughter went to McMeans for 2 years and all in all she really enjoyed it! The Assistant Principals are wonderful and were always there if we had a concern. The school work was hard but not impossible and the kids were all very nice. I will say I agree with all the comments about the Principal though (I have nothing nice to say about that woman so I'll keep my mouth quiet)

I have been bullied, the teachers are severely strict, and I have been a very good student. They lack to actually have sense in themselves. Its like if they are a rulebook.

I went to McMeans all three years and loved it! I was an office aide, so I talked to the assistant principals and other officials pretty often and I must say I was disappointed how little the principal herself was involved in anything. She sorta just sits there and looks official. The assistant principals were wonderful though! Teachers are great too, except for the band dept. which I was told to leave because I missed too much school. I really don't see where there was bullying, and I wasn't exactly popular.

I used to be a student a McMeans and to tell you the truth...I loved that school! I'm an 8th grader now but had to move, so I no longer go there, but McMeans is a great school with the best teachers. I just have a complaint againt the principal, Dr. Rice. She isn't that involved with the school and she's not very nice. But the assistant principals are wonderful and fun.

I agree with many parents. The principal and administration seem to be too harsh on mild discipline issues. Samll infractions like forgetting a homework paper result in detention. A low grade for the first infraction is OK perhaps detention there after. It seems they care only about rules - not people.

This is the first year my son has attended McMeans and he is an 8th grader. He has had a bit of trouble fitting in and staying on task with his studies. He has found a leader and example with Mr. Paz whom he adores.

McMeans is the worst school that my son has ever attended. The bullying that he has had to endure has been so bad that we had to involved the Katy ISD police twice already. The administration has been ineffective at stopping the bullying; thus, we had to pull him out and put my son in private school. We moved from out of state and everyone told us how fabulous the Katy school district is. Not only am I highly disappointed, but I am thoroughly disgusted not only with the children's behavior, but in how the administration has handled the school violence.
