Cedar Valley is a great atmosphere with a wonderful staff. My son was in Mrs Boswell's class in which she was strict in her ways but it works well for my son because he went to a MONTESSORI school where all this was taught early. The teachers and PTA do alot for the kids. My son enjoys his self and is learning with a good attitude. I think this school is better then alot of schools because their is compassion for the kids. THEY ARE ONLY KIDS ONCE and to GROW with them is the KEY! CEDAR Valley has that!
Excellent teachers and administrators that truly care about students. Lots of extra curricular activities. Staff emphasizes student acountabilty for academics and behavior! So refreshing. My child truly feels he is important to the teachers and that he matters.
Experienced and friendly staff at this school. Teachers are involved and accessible to parents all the time. Lots of enthusiasm from both the kids and teachers shown throughout the school year! My son loves his school. It is a good combination of ethnicities in this school and the school pride is apparent. The kids are independent thinkers and the higher grade level students sometimes assist the lower grade students. Everything thing seems organized and you can tell the teaching staff is seasoned and intelligent!
CVES is an excellent school. My son is an "Army Brat" and when we first got to Killeen my son was in the 1st grade and couldn't read or write his name. Within a month he was writing his name and beginning to read. He now is in the 5th grade and has been on the honor roll every year. He is also reading at a 11th grade level!! CVES is a very disaplined school. The kids do not get much play time and it does resemble a little military school. But what your children get because of this is safety, disipline, and a great education. I highly recommend CVES to anyone!
My son attended Cedar Valley for Pre K and Kindergarten. Mrs. Boswell is the greatest teacher! My son LOVED going to school each day that he was in her class. We are sad to be moving away and leaving Cedar Valley! The school is very strict and it bothers some people but it worked very well for my son. GO DOLPHINS!
This school is awesome! I am only sad to leave the area and I hope to find another school as wonderful as Cedar Valley. The best teachers and staff, my son absolutely adores his teacher and the staff. I know this is a great school because teachers because my son learn to read only having in Kindergarten 2 months! Caring teachers with high expectations and a lot of confidence in their students giving my son a comfortable learning environment and plenty of room to reach his goals. Cedar Valley will be missed.
I'm very happy with this school. My child went here for Pre K, then we moved and came back when she was in Kindergarten. Mrs Camps and Mrs Boswell, have made an impact on my child's education and overall well being. I would highly recommend this school...
Very happay with the school overall. My children seem to be on track with their grade level. Would like for them to excell and be prepared to succeed on the next level.
I am very happy with the school overall. There are some very minimal areas that could be worked on. The academics of awesome, the staff is great and my children are in great hands there...Thanks front office, the counselor, and great teachers like mrs. Lough, mrs. Mayo, and mr. Mckinnon!
I student taught at this school for my internship. This is an awesome structured school that has friendly faculty, intelligent students and is the best in the District.
I absolutely loved this school! Sure, academics could be a little on the strict side, but do we really want our children's education to be lax and ho-hum? Personally, I'm glad the staff puts such high emphasis on academics. My daughter has excelled and become an excellent student because of it. She takes her school work seriously and knows what needs to be done and when. The school forces students to take responsibility for their actions.
My grandson absolutely loves CVES. His mother teaching within the district and he can attend the school where she teaches, but he prefers Cedar Valley. He loves the 'teachers, their classrooms, and the office people.' He says the bathrooms and cafeteria are clean, plus the kiddos take good care of their space. His favorite is the counselor, Ms. Carroll, who makes CVES the best place to go to school.
I think Cedar Valley is a wonderful school. My children are safe and are learning every day. The teachers are in contact with me daily and really care about my children.
Cedar Valley is an excellent school. The staff has such a caring attitude and love for the students that attend. They work hard to meet the needs of the students by working closely with parents and setting goals that are achievable for the child. Embedded throughout the campus is a 'you can do it' attitude and 'we believe in you'. Students are guided to make right choices and to treat others with respect. No matter what learner walks through the door, all students are treated with kindness. In today's society, I appreciate the consistent expectations and goals established within the building. I have high expectations and aspirations for my child/ren and knowing that the school (where they spend the majority of the day) does too, makes me comfortable in the education that they are receiving. In summary, the school, teachers, and staff are a wonderful asset in my child's life.
If you have a child that have problems like ADHD this is not a school that will help you with him/her. School is way strict. The after school YMCA program is horrible.
It is a great school for children to be in. The teachers are very dedicated, the parental involvement is also great. The academic programs are on a very advanced level, keeping the children focused. Lots of homework
I like the school very much. The staff is wonderful. My son is learning so much. I do have a problem with the short recess time though. The kids, especially the younger ones, need more time to play and socialize.
My child attended CVES for three years. I found the school to be very goal driven; therefore, producing excellent academic results. Unfortunately, the drive to succeed often overlooked the fact that children need time to be children. The school was very strict. My child was okay with this, but I did see many students that suffered because of this.
