i don't like the location or that you rarely see other parents. The school programs are very good actually & the already small class of 12-14 gets split into 2 groups to better assist who needs further help & who is is beyond what is being taught. i get calls quite often asking me to come to the school for a conference.
so far so good! My child is learning here great she has complained about some misbehaving children in her class which every school class has. I'm not happy with the location & that i rarely see parents. I am excited about my child's teacher HE IS GREAT! She is doing better than the local school here in Killeen. I just advise parents to show face as much as possible!
They got a new building this year. It looks great but it's still to close to downtown Killeen. The staff are very willing to help, the class student teacher ratios are small *no more that 15 per class* They offer free tutoring after school. If your an involved parent the teachers will keep you updated on what you need to help you child with. I notice that most parents just use the carport pick system which I'm not a fan of but I can't tell other parent how to do their parenting job so it is what it is. Overall, for Killeen I think this school is a great option.I give the school a 5 star but if i could rate the parents... maybe a 1
My child hasn't been at the school too long, this is my child's first year, but so far any incident that has happened has been taken care of in a very professional manner. My child is well taken care of, and the communication is much better than any other school my child has been to here. The location is a little bit ghetto, and the bldg could use some TLC to make it a more inviting environment, but overall I am more pleased with this school than any other mainstream public school around here I've seen. And the driver is really nice and professional.
I am a former student there and I had no problem, all it takes is self desipline, and focus. Even when I went there I was surrounded by disruptive student, yet I finished all required courses half a semester ealry. For future student, I suggest to expect to push yourself, and stay focused
My child doesn't like the school anymore. We have a problem with one teacher mistreating , and also there are a lot of fights at the school,we have had several meetings and I go to the school during the day and I see the things they are talking about. my child will be removed by next year
School has lacked acadamically, children are not, I have found some prblems with the staff and my child is not happy there anymore. I have a great concern if there is not a change next year I will be removing my child from this school.
I think it's a great school
I would like to respond to a review. I don't know where this person gets their info from. The teachers are required to have a degree. If you would get involved in your childs education on a daily basis you would know their progress. The teachers are telling the truth about their progress. Concerning the drivers. I am one of them and without drivers there wouldn't be a school. We did the best we could last year. Sometimes things happen and a driver couldn't come. That's with every job. We were treated very fair and everyone knew how much they were making before they started. My child goes to destiny and he loves it. Parents need to show more interest in their childs education and especially in their behavior. Where are the parents on open house nights? The ones that complain the most are usually the ones never to be found around. We are still improving, but it takes all of us to make it successfull.
I feel that this school is very unorganized. Teaching is behind grade level. Most of the teachers do not have degrees and are family. Some kids have to work harder than others and are treated unfair. You never know the truth of your child's progress even if you do ask. The drivers were poorly supervised last year. They were treated like their job was not as important. They were paid poorly .30 per mile. I feel that this school is in need of all new staff- possibly not all of the same family or group as the church. This school does not deserve a star rating. author unknown
