This School is very disappointing. The Teachers seem to be okay for the most part but some of them are a not good, but the school is failing to meet minimal standards. There testing scores are low. Great Schools has a rating of 2 which is horrible for 3rd and 4th graders. They are unable to correct his problem for several years now. This is the most important stages of a Childs education between K-8. I would think that after the failed the first time they would revamp their efforts ensure success. My son is in a Skills set classroom in this school that is failing to teach our children. I am afraid he is not getting what he needs to succeed. They need major improvement and over haul, plus they need to get these kids a decent playground like the other schools in there District. I am not happy with this school. Plus, the way they have their school system setup is the 3rd and 4th graders have to go to this school because they don t have any other campus that supports all grades. So the children in 3rd and 4th grade are stuck in a failed school do to their current setup. I am currently trying to figure out how to solve this problem.
i really appreciate what you have done for my son.He is in the gifted and talented.he became so independent with his projects and school work and assignments.ido not check his assignments, he does all of them, you really motivated my son about going to school and doing his schoolwork.thank you.and i will get back to you after i start him on school in the east coast.i will report to you how he will be doing.
The only positive thing I can say is about the special ed department. They took my son, who entered 3rd grade unable to read, and took him all the way to scoring a 100 on the TAKS reading test. He reads above grade level now. However, his regular teachers give little to no homework, and don't grade most of what he does do.
My children attended this school and the experience was awful. One of my daugthers was told that she would not have to worry about her education because women usually stay at home with their children. This teacher also made many degrading comments towards the children in the class instead of disciplining the students whenever needed. It was evident when we moved to another state how our children's education suffered here since they were behind their Virginian classmates.
