Last year (2012-2013), we enrolled our children in the nearby public school in order to have the children in a larger environment. After the year, we returned to Kingwood Montessori in order to have our children get back on track of reading at a higher grade level, doing higher level math and explore science/geography/horticulture. The certified Montessori teachers are excellent and although Kingwood Montessori has been in existence for 7-8 years, the majority of the teachers has taught Montessori in the Kingwood area for more than 15 years. We highly recommend the school to those who are new to the area and those currently in the area who desires to educate the 'whole' child and not stress about standardized testing.
Kingwood Montessori School has been a wonderful school for our daughter. She has attended the school since she was 3 years old. We are extremely pleased with the school, teachers and experience she has had.
My child was assessed as GT, but was miserable in the public school system because her academic needs weren't being met. She's now blossoming at Kingwood Montessori in upper elementary where each child works at his/her own pace and desired depth. All academic bases are covered and more importantly the school is training the WHOLE child - not just academic achievement - which in the public schools is held to a mediocre standard.
