Ehrhardt Elementary School

We started at Ehrhardt this year after relocating to Texas. I was nervous about how my daughter would adjust to a new school, new house, new friends. After a few weeks of the usual trial of a new school year she has blossomed at Ehrhardt. She LOVES her teachers and the children have really accepted her. The curriculum is challenging with is good since she gets bored very easily. The staff and principal are also very caring. We had a pretty big health emergency with my family that required us to leave school for a few months and the entire school was amazing. Teachers and staff that we normally don't interact with were stopping us and wishing my family well. I am so glad that we happened to move into this neighborhood with such and amazing school.

My daughter excells at Ehrhardt where academics are key. The staff and teachers are friendly and attentive however there is little to no cultural or ethnic diversity in the administrative, support or teaching staff. German history is taught and celebrated year round yet cultural diversity is clearly neglected in the curriculum. Schools should note the demographic shifts among student populations and ensure the curriculum and those who teach it reflect a variety of opinions, beliefs, backgrounds, and people from all walks of life. It is the 21st century!

My son and I love Ehrhardt and the staff. He had a tough kindergarten year and the counselor was so helpful and he loves Ms. Tiff (pre-k) we have now moved to Krahn and we both dislike the administration and the office staff is so rude. We wish he were still at Erhardt. He learned to read before the end of kindergarten! It's a fabulous school!

My daughter is going on her second year there and already i noticed a major improvement.She has a hard time trying to read and the teachers there were so eager to help her as well as other children.Her teacher even took the time over summer vacation to come tutor her at home.I'm very pleased with this school.

Ehrhardt was an outstanding school for my children. We moved to the area with a 5th grader and a kindergartener who attended this school. Both of our children loved the teachers and staff at Ehrhardt. The other students were welcoming and our children made friends with nice, respectful kids quickly. Ehrhardt not only works hard for accademic growth in their students but also in character development. The staff at Ehrhardt focuses on the whole child not just test scores. This campus should be a role model for other public schools.

My first son has attended for 2 years, my second son, has attended for 1. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate and teachers focus better on fewer children with a supplemental adult in the room. Average ratio is 18 students to each teacher. Kindergarten and first grade are significantly hands on and tactile learning. Reading and mathematics are the primary focus. Computer/music/physical education are not given as strong an emphasis.

I'm utterly disappointed with this school. Before my daughter and I moved, I researched schools in the area. Ehrhardt was supposedly among the very best. I was shocked to see their 2nd grade vocab list comprised of words she learned in K'garten!(hat, sit, ham, etc.) The words progressed to two syllables but never got much more complicated. My daughter has not been challenged once by this school and has even grown bored with her education! I've started giving her work at home (w/ more age appropriate vocab words, mult., division, art, etc.)just to keep her interested. I understand challenges presented by teaching at public schools, but if Erhardt meets TX req. & even gets 'Recognized'- standards need to be raised. We're going back to Montessori schools, where her individual needs are met.

My daughter attended Ehrhardt from Kindergarten through her third grade year. We had to move, leaving her heartbroken. Moreover, I have struggled to find a new school environment that can hold a candle to Ehrhardt - academically, socially, or administratively! The parental involvement (highly encouraged and embraced), the faculty (experienced and loving), and the campus (safe and nurturing) are all exceptional!! Our time there was a blessing, and I feel yours would be too.
