My son attended Krahn from 3rd to 5th grade. He had great teachers each year and I couldn't have been happier. The entire staff always made me feel welcome when I came to lunch or parties. I would recommend Krahn to anyone looking for an elementary school.

As a parent with three boys attending Krahn, and I am very pleased with the school. The faculty and staff are very caring. All of my kids teachers communicate well with the parents. I have never had a 'surprise' on a report card if my child has fallen behind , unlike the school they had attended previously in another district. Discipline issues have been handled quickly and fairly after a bullying incident. Most importantly, my kids love getting up and going to school each morning. There is an excellent balance of learning, fine arts, and creativity that so many schools seem to lack these days.

My son currently attends 2nd grade at Krahn. My feelings are mixed. In kindergarten there were so many kids at different levels in his class and he often felt bored. His first grade teacher was wonderful! His math and reading skills got better each week, he was constantly challenged to think outside the box, use creative problem solving and really learn about the world around him. In 2nd grade, he has 2 teachers. His Language Arts teacher doesn't seem as involved/hands-on as I would have hoped. I feel that his reading and grammar improvement have fallen to me this year. However, his math/science teacher is amazing! From the first day of school he came home excited and energized and I know that he is learning a lot in her class. He is in the gifted and talented program at the school. My interactions with the Assistant Principal and Principal have always been good. They are friendly, address any concerns I have promptly and always seem interested in what is best for the kids. The school is involved in the community via boy scouts, spirit nights at local resturants and other such events.

As one of the original Krahn Cardinals, I was excited to have my child attend this school. However ALOT has changed!!! Office staff seem burned out - they are RUDE and I dread dealing with them. It's called "burn out " ladies, and once you hit it you need to GO. Same with teachers. If the passion is gone, you need to change careers. A transfer student, my child used to LOVE learning, and the growth at the previous school was awe-inspiring. However my child is "reviewing" things they learned GRADES ago, and isnt progressing. Desire to learn GONE. Teachers do not have the supplies, time or compassion expected. Principal? Have no idea. Never hear anything, never see her (or him?), and that is a HUGE difference from my child's last school. Sad for Krahn, and even sadder for it's students. Where's the revamp crew? CLEAN HOUSE ALREADY

Krahn is like home. The staff is VERY welcoming. I have had children in the school for 3 years now and I could not be happier. There are always going to be bumps on the road of life but the staff at Krahn are always there with arms extended to help in any way they can, most of the time going above and beyond. I can't imagine my children growing up in any other school.

I think the teachers at this school are good educators. The administrators often appear unapproachable and this attitude seems to be spreading to the front office staff. This is not a friendly school...none of the office staff is welcoming. Parents are partners and would appreciate a smile.

I am a parent of a Kindergartener and was concerned about how the school would handle the safety of my 5 year old starting school for the first time. Krahn has exceeded my expectations and the teachers and staff have been wonderful! They are organized and line the hallways constantly making sure that the students are being helped to their class and are where they need to be. So far, my daughter enjoys being at school and I have been totally put at ease with her being there.

I have had a child in this school for 12 years now and have been very pleased with the education they have received. The staff is helpful, the teachers are caring individuals, and I would recommend this school to others.

Krahn is an excellent school with terrific teachers. They are caring and want the children to learn to the best of their ability. Our test scores are very good with the exception of one sub group of students. Unfortunately that counts against our overall rating. We have wonderful parent volunteers and have for many years. We wish we could have more like the ones we have but unfortunately many parents are having to work and can't volunteer. The music, PE and other activities are first rate.

Was a good school back in 2005. Has been going down due to neighborhood demographics and shifting populations since then. Numerous school alerts in 2006, increasing in volume greatly in 2007. Looking for a new school for our student. Pre-gang activity noted.
