I think this school was great and wish my children still went there. There were a few hiccups such as teacher who felt it was better for a kindergarten to wet themselves then to let them use the restroom. But when we talked to the administration, they did respond and try to make the teacher do the right thing. They were serious about teaching the children and were very responsive to parent inquiries.
my child attended grades 2-5 at kuehnle (left in 2009). She was only a B+ student but went on to middle school and made A's in all pre-AP classes in grades 6-8. I believe Kuehnle prepared her well. My only complaint is there are way too many very hard PROJECTS that require A LOT of parental help if your kid wants a good grade. The middle school projects my child has had are FAR easier and there are FAR fewer than K elem assigned.
We love Kuehnle! My siblings went there and my child now goes there. The teachers are caring and they want your child to excel. The principal is involved with the children and cares about her school. Mrs. Farmer, the music teacher is an amazing woman. Mrs. Lewis, a first grade teacher loves her students, cares about them and is very passionate about teaching. The front office is sweet and remembers who you are. Coach Irby is a great coach and you will always see him smiling! I recommend this school! The only thing I can complain about is the drop off and pick up method, it's a bit too busy in the mornings and afternoons. That's the only complaint I have! Love the school!!!
We love Kuehnle! My daughter was a student there in Mrs. Spretz's class. Mrs. Spretz is a wonderful teacher and really helped my daughter to become a more confidant student. She is kind and warm and firm. The school community is wonderful, with many parent volunteers, great activities and kind educators. I would definitely recommend Kuehnle Elementary to anyone! We were sad to have left, but glad that we had such a good experience. Coming from a different country was a bit intimidating, however we were welcomed right away at Kuehnle!
I was a bit skeptical when I enrolled my children here, but this school has proven to me to be serious about education. My sons have some of the best teachers there. Mrs. Spretz (3rd grade) has opened up a side in my son that I havent seen before, he is excited about learning and going to her class.
Excellent school, the education is far superior to other districts and schools in the area. It is amazing how advanced the students are coming out of this school versus other schools. Teachers and staff are incredible. There must be a good reason the turn over is so minimal at this school.
This school has provided the best education for my daughter I've seen. In addition, she loves going there but is also receiving advanced learning.
As a past student at Kuehnle I believe this school is one of the best in KISD to attend. The teachers are helpful and willing to teach. They make learning fun. I used to hate English until I met Ms.Harris. She tought me that learning is fun! No other school anywhere is quite like Kuehnle. I highly recogmend this school!
