Hassler Elementary School

I am a parent of a kinder gardener this year. I am very impressed with the faculty and there head count to teacher is really good, just 16 kids to one teacher. The school seems to be extremely strong academically and we are so lucky to be zoned there.

Great school! Kids and parents alike love it! Very active PTO and volunteer program in school. Overcrowding has ceased in the passed 2 years and many class size is almost equivalent to private schools. Great PE and Music Dept!

Hassler is an 'Exemplary' school based on test results. The music program (5th grade strings program!)is outstanding, as is the PE program, even though there is no gym. They are building one, and it will be ready in 2007. There is no art program because the school is so overcrowded that they needed the classroom space. The entire 2nd grade is outside in portables. 2007 should see some relief with a new area school being built. The children only get to go to the library every other week because the school is so overcrowded. This school has an excellent reputation, and many families are moving to the neighborhood because of Hassler. The PTO is among the most active that I have ever seen. Children are well mannered, and seem to love this school. In summary, it's way too overcrowded this year, but 2007-2008 should be much better.

This is a great school with great teachers. They have a very karge and involveed PTO. This school is one of the best in the ditrict.
