Vail has some excellent educators, but questionable leadership. Not much support for parents or staff. Too bad.

This school has not been very cooperative in evaluating children with special needs. I have been given the run around and bad or little information regarding the rights of special education/disabled students. I feel bad that some educators have NO CLUE to legislation pertaining to education. I had to seek an advocate and other resources on my own to let the school know what their responsiblites as educators are. I had to chose one star as my rating because half or three quarters of a star was not an option.

This school needs stronger teachers and administration. Discipline is a huge issue, not because the teachers do not have classroom management but because the administration is not firm in decisions made. Parents as well need to allow teachers to do their job and not run to their children's rescue. The teachers continue to allow their personal lives and opinions drive their daily lessons and attitude. Teachers like this need a reality check and realize the students come first and need to make education fun. Too many paraprofessionals run the school not to mention the parents. The system is supposed to serve the students not the parents.Administration needs to protect their teachers as well. Not allow parents to come and belittle the teachers or make them feel harassed. Discipline is key!
