Lol if you don't go to La Porte then you have no clue what your missing! All this stuff about LP being so behind and GANG stuff? Ha are you SERIOUS? LP's FUN, everyone knows everyone, Dr. K is the BEST principal anyone could ask for! The teachers are all friendly, but of course there's a few that teach a little slower and aren't so friendly, but I mean come on, what school doesn't have a few of those teachers? Oh and just because LP is very diverse a homey. They do offer challenging academic programs, but whether or not you choose to participate in them or not is your choice! But overall I love La Porte High School and wouldn't change any thing about it! (:

About the level of education: I attented LPHS for 2 years and then transferred to a different high school. I was so far behind when i moved here, because LaPorte's level of education isn't as high as other schools. Not to mention, gangs and violence run rampant in LaPorte.

The school is small enough in size where the child doesn't get 'left' behind.

I think Mr. Drake was a great Principal. I graduated from La Porte and started high school when Mr. Drake begin his career as a principal in La Porte. I can honestly say that from the day i met him, he was alway dedicated to education and committed to success on our campus. The teachers were also great, as a minority in the school i never received any different treatment then the rest of the student body.

I totally disagree about Mr. Drake being an excellent principal. He rarely responded to any concerns I had about my son as was the case with the vast majority of teachers. I am very happy with Ms. Kolias who always responds and sees that her teachers do also. This is the first year I have actually been somewhat satisfied with the involvement of the teachers, I do however still question the quality of eduaction at the school

I am currently a student at LPHS and find it to be a great campus. Staff is outstanding, testing scores are good, and the student body is very friendly(not hostile). Our school is very active incorporating clubs, music groups, leadership activities, sports and an always outstanding annual musical.

Both of my children attended La Porte High. I feel that most of the teachers they had were truly dedicated to teach the children, and showed respect and concern for them. I do believe they received a good education. My children played sports, and the school is dedicated to their athletics, but some of there facilities could use some work. The principle, Mr. Drake, is great. He has always been available and open with me when I had any questions or concerns. The school also has some wonderful counselors. However, I am unsure about the current superintendent. I do not agree with everything she does.
