Our children attend LVISD and its a great place to let your kids go to school.
I agree with the last statement; the one just before this. Small town town, small town attitude. There is a definite 'click' atmospere and it does run through teachers and administrators. However, it is not quite as bad as some schools. The worst thing is the narrow mindiness of the students. There are other schools out there besides LV and there are other colleges besides Texas A&M; however, LV students cannot seem to grasp that concept. Big fishes in little ponds.
The teachers are rude because the kids and parents are power mongers. What is it with the LV parents? Don't you trust your teachers to do right by your kids? Are you all so narrow minded that it has never occured to you that your kids lie to you sometimes?
The La Vernia schools are only OK - check the rating. The worst thing is the 'click' atmosphere that runs from parents all the way through the teachers & administration. Combined with racial bigotry and kickback payolla system for finances, there's definately an unhealthy environment in LV.
As a parent of two kids going to this school I couldn't which for better, they both are so happy there and me as a parent couldn't be happier because besides the classes, the administration have a disclipine and dress code that I agree so much with and that I consider is an important part of the kid's foundation for their behavior and formation as an respectfull adult.
I completely agree. We have had the best experience at this school. They go far and beyond what is expected at a school.
What an awesome school. My son was at Alamo Heights for years and I had to beg and spend thousands of my own dollars to get my son extra help. In La Vernia, I was approached by the school and they helped him. He has always struggled and now he is on level. It is completely because the administrators/teachers don't allow any child to slip through the cracks. They get the kids help and I haven't had to get any private help. I'm amazed and very happy with La Vernia Elementary.
The Staff at this school are very rude.
