Unless you come from money or graduated from Lexington and have deep roots, your kids will not be successful. If your kid has a learning disability, FORGET getting any help without a doctors note to force it and then even still you have to babysit the school. PE education is the worst I have ever seen. My kids say all they do is walk around the playground, every day while the teachers play on their phone. My older one in middle school athletics is pretty much in a PE class. My child doesn't get to play at all, coach is constantly screaming and yelling at the kids, playing on the phone, or horse playing with other coaches (personal observations). If a teacher is called out for faults your child will suffer repercussions (bully-style) from the teacher. My middle child has been passed 3 grades and reads 2 grades level below the current grade level. Bullies are not dealt with at all. Just look up the 01/16/14 fight at Lexington High School that almost claimed a student's life. I am so disgusted with this school!

This is an average school. A parent needs to interview teachers and choose the teacher That fits the child's needs. By the time they get too the 3rd grade it's over the teachers don't care. The physical education department is aweful. The music teacher is NOT a teacher a does not teach music but has them watch videos and is known to leave the roim. Fun Fridays? They do nothing on Friday! Watch movies. Several parents complain to the teachers and principle. The teachers are helpless and the principle doesn't care. Low test scores. PRO does not want ANY new ideas. The school system favors long term residence (names) This school just passes your child. Many cannot read in middle and HS. They teach your child to pass a test they do NOT educate children.

This school is probably fine for average students. Parents of children with special needs to run away, and run away fast. We talked with several parents of learning challenged kids and the conversation was virtually the same every time, those kids DON'T get what they need. I understand finances are an issue, but frankly if any of the staff would have actually listened to or acknowledged our concerns at ARD meetings it would have gone a long way. That did not happen. We had outside testing and an advocate involved, and it didn't help much. Next step was a TEA complaint. Instead, we moved. Supposedly the new superintendent cares a lot about special needs. I did call her once with a concern. She politely said she would look in to it. Never heard back. I

The School is very small, but for it's size the teachers really try to work with the students. The Administration tends to be more difficult, and if you have a child with special needs, it will take a lot of work to get services.
