We lucked into this school, we didn't know what a great school we had around the corner when we moved here. The teachers all seem to enjoy their jobs and my children are always excited to go to school here. The principal and her administrative staff are attentive and dedicated. My son has so many resources available to him and I didn't have to fight tooth and nail to get them for him. Great school, teaches about eco-awareness and there is a pet in every class room!

So glad school is back in session! North Ridge teachers and administration are caring, involved, competent, and welcoming. Like others have mentioned, the animal and recycling programs are out of this world. We love the fact that there has consistently been little homework, but the homework that does come home is great for three reasons: it's usually creative work that is relevant to a lesson; it's often contract-based, allowing the students some choice in their preferred tasks to practice a skill; and/or it is given on a Monday and isn't due until Friday. For parents, this is such a boon! The school actively participates in the AR program and encourages reading at all levels. Love the parent involvement activities, too, like the annual picnic dinner on the lawn and the teacher "No Talent" show.

Our parents and staff are wonderfully supportive of our animal, recycling, and gardening programs! Over 350 students have participated in our recycling this year.

We are the only school in Texas, possibly in the US that has over 130 animals for our hands on science program and we have a recycling center too.

The recycling program and hands on science/animal program is phenomenal. It really teaches the kids to appreciate our Earth and take care of it and animals. Each year the kids pick a specific theme, this year it is tropical, that the entire school follows in decor for hallways and classrooms.

All three of my children have attended this elementary school, and it has been a terrific experience for all of us. The school teaches the 'character counts' program, which is moral-based and teaches children about good character. The special programs, from the GT program to the in-school tutoring, have been fantastic. The teachers and principal love children and are willing to do whatever the kids need to learn. In addition, the PTA and parent involvement is also good. The PTA focuses on the children instead of themselves. Parents are always willing to help in the classroom and participate in their children's education. I highly recommend this school.
