I am writing another review to replace the one from 2007. This school was really great for awhile, but things change. The new elementary principal is very outgoing and concerned, and MOST all of the teachers are great here. The high school principal is also very competent. Some of the staff was replaced which is a positive sign. I had to withdraw my children because of multiple problems with multiple staff members (some were not even my children's teachers), so I am uninformed of all the changes from 2009-2010 school year. The principals did work very hard to resolve them, but the issues were multiplying. If you send your children here, Be Aware and Involved. Ask your children questions also.

My child was going to another school here that is considered the best public schoolaround here. It was alittle unorganized ect... I asked around and heard about Pineywoods. He adjusted well and Jeannie is the best staff member along with Vivian Kay there. He loves the P.E. class its fun, yet he is still getting exercise. It is still growing, but only for the better.

Excellent school, student-teacher ratio, teachers, and principal, I wish my son would have stayed here as long as humanly possible, but my problem child had problems. As a parent, I love this school, located across from Lufkin High. Small, but very impressive, my two year old will go to this school when she's old enough, until she reaches the end of it. Unless she has some really good reasons not to, of course, which I don't expect, having seen it in action. A shining star in the town of Lufkin, but the High Schools also excellent. My son may not survive a principal that tough at any school, but impressive. My daughter will do great there, I only wish we'd found this one sooner than 6th grade for the third born child in the family.
