Menchaca Elementary School

Excellent school that the teachers and staff are awesome and go the extra mile. I was very surprised with the rating for Menchaca as my experience is it is an excellent school. It was so far off I'm questioning the ratings of this website...

My two kids just started at this school and so far we really like it!! Everyone has been very helpful and caring!! The principal and assistant principals are very involved and very approachable and have told us more than once that if we ever need anything to come to them!! Had some concerns about my oldest son in the first week and the assistant principal (Ms Eliza) was on top of it that same day and she and teachers had it taken care of by the very next day!! Very impressed!! Teachers and all the staff are very involved with all the kids, assemblies every morning to get the kids motivated and give encouragement for the day!! I could keep going but bottomline we are very impressed with the school so far and already feel at home!!

LOVE Menchaca Elementary. I have two children in this school. All the teachers have been excellent. Ms. Herrera has been a favorite. Both children love school thanks to her. The principle makes an all out effort to know all of the children. I really appreciate this.

The teachers and the staff are always there to help you with any problem you may have. They but effort to teach the children not only the school lessons but what are going to expect from the real life.

My daughter is in kindergarten and Ms. Herrera is a great teacher with wonderful, caring, and fun qualities that have developed my child's knowledge way passed my expectations. She does not let them just play all day. She really teaches them skills and academics that keep her class ahead of the usual kindergartener. My daughter loves school because of her and the other teachers. Teachers are so important and Menchaca has proved to me and my neighbors who have children in the school that they deserve a much higher rating than they have currently.

My son is in kindergarten this year and he loves it! They go to 'specials' each day, such as art, music, and gym. He was here last year in preK and honestly I was second guessing myself. I wasnt sure if this was the right school for him... it is! We love it! The principals are very attentive and involved. The Ast. Principal really connects with the children and make them feel like school is a fun safe place to be.

I have 2 children and a niece and nephew attend Menchaca Elementary School. We absolutely love the school. The teachers are wonderful and caring, but also make sure that our kids get a good education. The Prinicpal and Asst Principal are doing a lot of great work to improve the overall school performance. My oldest daughter just graduated 5th grade and I'm sad to see her leave Menchaca Elementary School. Go Mustangs!!

My daughter has attended Menchaca for the past 3 years as a 1st, 2nd and now a 3rd grader. Each year, she has had an excellent teacher. Everyone at the school is committed to excellence - you will not be disappointed.

My children were in the Early Childhood Program at Menchaca for 2 years. Their teachers were outstanding and gave them individualized help when they needed it. The teachers were always available for consultations and responded with enthusiasm to help or comments from us. The small classes necessary for our childrens' special needs enabled my children to grow and advance in a nurturing and caring environment. They are now on a good footing to start kindergarten. We decided to move, however, because we did not feel the general education population of the school was advanced enough to give our children the extra support they will need now that they will be included in the 'regular' classes. That being said, the Early Childhood program is outstanding.

I am highly impressed with this school. Their tribes method promotes self confidence and respect for others. The school actively engages family involvment in the students educational experience. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There is a free flow of information between parents and the school. The teacher's use of a daily take home folder encourages interaction between student and parent. Plus, it provides a very convenient method of communication from parent to teacher.

Thanks to Menchaca my son has made vast improvements in his education! He is entering 3rd grade and is extremely excited about it. In the beginning of 1st grade he was diagnosed by the school as severly dyslexic. Luckily the teachers at the school stepped in and explained how to help him and really reached out to him. He is reading at the appropriate grade level now and loves to read! The staff of the school helps me as much as possible with updates about his progress!

My son has been going since kinder thru 5th. I went through 5 school disticts to get him here. Everyone cares and respects each other. Good job, Menchaca, my son and I will miss you.

I had looked at private schools also before starting my daughter in kindergarden. Menchaca Elementary had all the qualities I was looking for in a school. We are in first grade now and have continued to be impressed.
