I love this school I am an 8th grader and i have benn here for 2years already they have the coolest and nicest teachers ever they are very fair to the all of us and they dont pick favs. The sports and extra stuff is ssooo much FUN!! ILOVE MJH!!
i am astudent at this school and i love the place. the teachers are good teachers.
my child go's to this school now and i say its pretty good exept for their lunches they she says that they are okay but not really good... the teachers are really nice (most of them) and they help you when you are failing or are almost there. :]
the principal is supportive and nice, even when dishing out discipline. the vice principal, however, is horrible. she screams and has this way of getting in your personal space that is very unnerving. also, to cope with crowded hallways, they came up with a rule that one could only walk in a certain direction through the hallway. the school is basically a big square, you see. anyway, they only give you three minutes inbetween classes, and even if your next class was right next door to your first one, if it was in the 'wrong direction' you had to walk completely around, through the neighboring hallway to get to your classroom. pretty backwards, huh? needless to say i was almost always late...
My son is an 8th grader this year and is much happier with the school atmosphere now that the attendance is down to a manageable level. Last year the school was extremely overcrowded. As a result of the downsizing, he is enjoying the 'small town' school spirit at MJH. He is a Pre-AP student and finds the teachers challenging, interesting and supportive. Unfortunately, MJH continues to be the 'red-headed step child' of AISD with regards to athletics and equipment provided. If MJH were provided equivalent equipment as the other Jr. High's in the district (Nolan Ryan, Alvin Jr. High & Fairview Jr. High) I would have rated the school a 5.
I would recommend this school to any student. With the excellent academics, the extracurricular activities are the icing on the cake.
well there alot of fighting at this school. the school is not safe and the children are not nice. the school is over crowed and there is no room for us. as an 8th garder we are getting kick to the the annex and have alot of classes over there. this school will probalby be better next year but right now with all the gang drama i wouldnt recomend this school. pearland isd need to take the shadow creek kids in there school distrit. Mjh student 07-08
The school is great the teachers are wonderful when it comes to the students. The only problem I have is the over crow[d]ing and the children have to carry their book with them from class to class. For my daughter that is 3 bags total, that is a lot to keep up with. The students cannot use the lockers because we have more students than lockers.
My daughter attends Manvel Jr.High overall all the teachers are very kind and concern about thier students they keep you informed only if you stay in touch with them. School could use a makeover.
My son is in the 8th grade. So far this has been good environment for him. He seems to really enjoy the teachers and classes, especially Mr. Murphy and Mr. Ford. Thanks for your positive attitude towards the students.
