Mathis High School

Many quality teachers enter this district but they leave so soon due to the lack of strong administration. They do not give teachers the support they need which would account for the school's high turnover rate. This school could excel if there was stronger, more organized administration.

Mathis High School is a good school, i should know i am currently attending it. This school has a lot of great activities being offered, but they focus to much on how we look instead of how we perform adcademically. They are always concerend with dress code and how we act that they put our academmic status on the back-burner. I'm not saying they should'nt show concerns in those areas but they could ease up a little and make our education the number one priority instead of our appearence.

There are plenty of programs available, yet the infrastructure for most programs in this district leaves much to be desired. The school's administration paints a bright picture, but they themselves lack the ability to effectively manage most programs to a point of success. The superintendent has no stake, other than a paycheck, in the success of Mathis ISD.
