We originally moved to Maypearl in 1999 because the district was an 'exemplary' district. After a superintindent change, Maypearl bottomed out in 2008 as a 'acceptable' district. We have 2 children who graduated and currently have one attending Maypearl High School. If you're just looking for a small town school, this might be for you. If you're looking for excellent academics, you might want to look somewhere else. The athletic program is average at best. Maypearl has never won a team state championship in any sport. Overall, the school facilities are very much below average (with the exception of a very nice and new elementary school). The athletic facilities are below average. The choices in academic classes and athletic sports is very limited (you better like football or basketball).
