Faubion Middle School

Faubion has got to have the worst communication in the history of all schools! I have emailed both the assistant principal and principal on at least 3 occasions this year and spoken with the asst principal once and got nothing in return! They have completely ignored my concerns regarding miscommunication and the lack of grade entries in the Home Access Center. Parents have no idea from one day to the next what their children's grades are as grades are either not updated in a timely manner or in many cases, not entered at all! Children are marked absent when they are actually in class, email letters from the principal contain different event dates than what was communicated by a department. I have had it with this school's lack of professionalism and care for our children's education. When you have teachers that are there simply to "coach" or just earn a paycheck...our students suffer! Glad we will not be attending Faubion next year!

Faubion is the best middle school in McKinney--the best teachers and programs around. Your child will get a great education--disregard the negative comments about the neighborhood. It is not a ghetto and the building is getting a beautiful renovation.

Stay away from Mckinney ISD at all costs! The schools here are not zoned geographically, they are zoned socioeconomically! So even if you purchase a house in a nice part of town, they will bus you kids to the ghetto (Faubian) and force them to go to school in a gang infested part of town. Avoid Faubion-it's a dump built in the 50's and is full of asbestos and "undesirables". The other schools aren't much better. They actually bus the other ghetto dwellers and poison the other schools as well.

We found Faubion Middle School to offer a quality education in McKinney Texas. This was the first year our son attended Faubion and we were very pleased with the overall experience.

Faubion Middle School is a hell on earth. The kids are loud, rude, and just flat out mean. This school is crawling with rats and roaches. The cafeteria food is awful. The hotdogs are undercooked and the food just tastes awful. My adivce, if you're deciding between Faubion and Cockrill or anyother middle school? Pick any other school! Faubion sucks!

Faubion staff and administration are education professionals. The coaches really curb the rough edges if any exist using military training exercises among the standard social consequences found in private schools. The reading teachers ask for certain genre books to be read and allow families to choose their own supporting individualized education and diversity in the best sense. Math and science teachers would also excel if trained to identify late blooming gifted and talented students in their pre-AP classes and arranging assignments so they can be finished and turned in on time. Besides a need for touchless bathroom fixtures, energy upgrades and some curb appeal landscaping sorely needed all else is as it should be. Faubion administration has done a superb job carrying out the state's new conservative curriculum and putting the burden of behavior choices in the students' court. Glad to be a McKinney Texan.

All of my children have gone to faubion and have hated. It is not a good enviornment for good kids. My youngest is having very tough bullying problems

I think Faubion MS is the best middle school in McKinney. Despite its location and age of the building, the teachers are wonderful and the music programs are top notch! Faubion is an outstanding school.

My son is a special ed student and has done okay with the guidance of the teachers. I find that you have to use your best judgement when meeting with the staff on the students agenda, otherwise they focus on state scores. Thankfully the TAKS will be eliminated and the staff can focus on teaching academics and not just test material. As with any school the parent must stay involved. The one thing I love about this district is the parents ability to see all grades on the schools website, so you know how they are preforming. My calls and emails have always been returned and my suggestions or requests have always been answered. The schools ethnicity is diverse. Overall I recommend the school.

i just graduated from FMS this summer and have to say that I truly think it is the best in the area. With great staff who really care about the students and everything the school has to offer, you are truly lucky to have your student go to Faubion!! I recently have moved to CA and am now entering the International Baccalauriate Program. There is no way that I could have made it in with out the awesome knowledge gained at Faubion!

I think this is a marvelous school, with warm, smart teachers.......many kids here are over achieving but I do think parents should get more involved with their children's work.

my son complins about this schools lack of attention to the periodical studdies they must apprehend. The teachers have no sense of direction, my son has taken the step to read text books over the subject just so he can learn.
