The principal in this school does not show consideration for children who have learning disabilities and allows and participates in bullying. When the children are not shown respect, how can they be expected to learn it?
In a school where the principal and teachers bully the children, it's not possible to develop honesty, integrity, and fairness to the students. Children learn by seeing and then imitating what they see.
It's a chaotic mess. Teachers leaving, office staff messing up with record keeping, constant rule changes and favoritism. MISD needs to take a long hard look at what is going on within this school. We left and are thriving in our new school.
This school teaches that it's ok to be different if you have a disability that is visible. If a student happens to have a learning disability that's not quite so easy to see, they allow students, as well as teachers and staff, to label them as bad kids. This school also uses humiliation as a form of punishment for students with learning disabilities. Which anyone with a brain knows that this causes discouragement and hopelessness. This school needs to show more compassion with kids who act, look, and learn differently. This will help their students do the same.
